The Oilers traded away Gretzky, it’s naive to say they would never trade away McDavid.
lol the Hurricanes facilities suck? I was at NCSU when the "ESA" was built so that we could play basketball and the canes could play hockey in the same building – I remember walking in and thinking "Jesus this place is amazing".
That was like 25 years ago or so.
canes fan here. i just skipped to the mcdavid talk. my guess they mentioned how it doesnt match the home which is a dumb thing to care about imo. i dont like the jerseys for other reasons but the thing that doesnt matter at all is the opinion of non-canes fans.
mcdavid talk is fun though. I personally dont understand why he wouldnt want to go to free agency. he can still sign in edm if he wants. why not see what others offer?
It doesnt matter what style jersey carolina uses, those colors work, and will forever be better than nashvilles ugly yellow whatever they come up with.
To shawns point on LTIR, yes you want the big stars in the big games, but we have what? 5 teams we can call complete crap right now…and the league wants to expand to 36 eventually. Im in the camp you will just water down the league at this point, and if teams can still play LTIR shenanigans, the haves and have nots gap widens, IMO.

The most fun team to sign McDavid is the Florida Panthers in free agency next summer. Bobrovsky's $10 million comes off the books and the cap goes up $5 million. McDavid would absolutely sign a bridge deal in Sunrise, Florida for $15 million/year. Guaranteed Stanley Cup for Connor.
That white Hurricanes jersey looks like something Adidas would have designed. I don't hate it, but I agree that it's inconsistent with the home and 3rds.
These guys takes on closing of the LTIR playoff loophole are dismal. Not bright at all. They also don't discuss why the playoff LTIR salary cap rules were there in the first place. Sometimes good players get hurt at inopportune times before the playoffs. A good team can be rocked by the loss of a key player. Should they then have to write-off their entire season and championship potential? Or should they be allowed to trade for help. To pick up a piece to replace the loss of a key player? Obviously they should. But then what happens to the key player if he's good enough to play at some point during the playoffs? Just a big eff you? Too bad, buddy, you're not allowed to rejoin your team unless they bench the other good, key player the team got to replace you (in case you didn't come back). There was a good reason it was put in place.

The Canes branding is to have different styled jerseys, its been like that for a long time now. Also to say that it would have been better to have Stormy on the front of the jersey is one of the worst takes I've seen today.
