  1. Joao won for sure. Longer tubes, deeper and surfing way faster. His best waves were not even in his top 2. Griff ripped

  2. Hi yewma here, can't believe I snuck past all the surf bros on that one 🏄‍♀️ next year onto shark league 😂

  3. One take away from Tahiti besides all the super Sick barrels that were ridden. The look Caity had at the awards ceremony, She was not happy, she looked extremely pissed that she came in 2nd. But the take away from that is that she was sooo deep on one of those barrels in the finals she was swallowed up. Make no mistake she is pushing the progression big time by taking those risks. It will be no doubt that her and Molly will be facing off for the title. I am fully American but the Aussie announcers are awesome! No Turdpell, No Kotex, would have been better. Stace, Strider, was on Point for sure! Some questionable scoring (but that's every event) all in all it was super Rad..

  4. Why do they separate the Finals from the Regular Season on Fantasy? This really made things confusing for our group betting wise… Do the finals add significantly more points to totals? Looks like you can get anywhere from 0 – 1600 points right? which is not too different from the last Tahiti event

  5. Tahiti:
1- Dude, it was straight-up interference by Jack that totally should’ve been penalized. Rules are rules, man—they gotta be enforced. It’s not about some cute story of an Aussie maybe qualifying if he wins the event. You can’t just look the other way and let it slide.

2-Four judges gave the win to Chianca, one to Colapinto. That’s clear evidence the WSL’s judging system has some serious flaws. At the very least, they need a hard rule that locks in a win if four judges agree. It’s ridiculous that a guy who only convinced one judge moves on. Honestly, I didn’t think Chianca’s win was super obvious. It’s not some massive injustice that João lost—it was a close call. But while we’re on it, one issue I see is that WSL judging always seems to lean toward big names, maybe even with a subtle push to mix up nationalities. Griffin was the only American left, and Chianca had less on the line. That kinda stuff can creep into the judges’ heads, even unconsciously. Just a vibe I get. If there was only one Brazilian in the running, I wouldn’t be shocked if they got a softer look from the judges either. This is just the impression I’ve had after years of watching. And it’s not just WSL—anyone remember that absolute robbery Medina took against Kanoa at the Tokyo Olympics? That was one of the most embarrassing moments in surfing history. They had the nerve to score a grab air on a smaller wave higher. And Ben Lowe, that Aussie judge who always seemed to lowball Gabriel in Tokyo, was picked for Paris 2024 and even posted a pic with Ethan before the event. Unreal. He got pulled, but it just makes me feel like surfing’s judging is far from professional.

3-Big props to Ethan for stepping up his game on this kinda wave. Still, he didn’t deserve a spot in the finals—definitely not shining like he has in past seasons.

4-Toledo had a decent wave in the first round, but in the repechage, he went back to his usual self. That wave just isn’t his thing. You can tell he’s got some fear, and every year it feels like he’s less interested in figuring it out. Still, we’re lucky to watch a guy who’s a genius in other conditions.

    Finals:

1-Jordy’s the only guy I’m pretty much ruling out on the men’s side. I just can’t see him pulling it off.

2- I’m rooting hard for Yago, and I hope he doesn’t see this—or if he does, dude, you got this. Just one observation from an outsider’s perspective. You’re in control, man.

The comment: Yago’s had moments in his WSL career where he’s slipped up in heats, maybe from not being dialed in or getting rattled. In a high-stakes matchup against guys who are used to big moments, that could be tough. I hope he shows up ready to battle and takes it.

3-I called it on Colapinto when he was flying under the radar. That kid’s the most deserving of a world title among the guys who haven’t won yet—talking pure talent and competitive fire.

4-I don’t even wanna think about Molly losing, especially to Caroline Marks with a 20,000-point gap. It’s not impossible, but come on, let’s not go there.

  6. I remember years back, in an interview Renato as head judge said that there is nothing in the rule book about the size of the wave but how it is surfed. When did it all change? I do understand that if it is 6 to 8 ft catching 4ft insiders will not help your cause.

  7. So stoked to take the win on the fantasy league ❤‍🔥thanks again for putting it on 🙏 looking forward to next season already

  8. Great rundown fellas. As for controversies there was a pretty sizeable uproar that Erin was robbed too…and I agree. She was. Sad but it seemed to be a an odd year for the lady goofies overall imho. Can't wait for next year though!

  9. You guys should talk about the clear interference by JR. Read the WSL rules and they just decided to not give it. It's pathetic how biased WSL is.

  10. Now that the final five is going away, it’s gotta really sting for Carissa. Every person on the men’s side was the “deserving winner”, as in they were the number one rated surfer going into it, and then they clutched it. Then Carissa won her first title in the finals format ranked number one, caity was first also. But those two she lost to Steph and Caroline were frankly bs, she was clearly the best surfer over those two years on the tour, and now she’s a 5 time world champ instead of a 7 time, tied with Stephanie as she should be.

  11. Upit lads, thanks for the entertainment. The episode I caught with Jacko Baker was great.Get him onboard.,go good 🤙🌞🌊

  12. Didn't WSL mention something about the top seed has priority for the Final5 or is it only yellow seed that gets an automatic victory if he wins the 1st heat?

  13. How come T bone saw Joao Chianca winning his heat and didn't see the interference between Jack and Italo? Come onnnn T bone!!
