They really need to finish in a playoff spot or finish in the bottom ten. No in between.
And one thing about Dobson, hes a bitch. Not even worth 6 mil. If you watch any islanders games youll know what i mean. He was a liability and horrible in all 3 zones.
I say Islanders probably do slightly better than last year with an outside chance for a wildcard spot. I know people will point to losing Nelson and Dobson but if you look at all of Islanders injuries last season, losing Nelson won't hurt as much if Barzal can play 75+ games(he only played 30 last season) and while Dobson hurts alot I can't imagine us having as many injuries on defense as last year so hopefully that will be enough to make up for our bigger defensive problems last year. The big key for the Islanders will be can they take their 30th ranked PP and PK and at least bring it to some point of respectability(even if it's 20th best that is a huge improvement).
I certainly hope this team sucks next season. I pray Lee, Palms and JG have incredible success this season so when the deadline comes up the islanders can get back solid returns. with that said, I also hope Schaefer and Ritchie have incredible numbers this season. I hope Schaefer is in a class of his own when it comes to defensive players.
I know most of you never really watched Dobson play. Dobson is soft. That’s the only way I can describe him. Soft. Our power play has been complete garbage ever since he took over. We got 2 players that can easily surpass anything Dobson did or ever will do and they’re not even in the NHL yet. We are building a team that prides itself on heart. That’s the only way we will get out of this rut. Next up, Lee, Palms and JG. I might hold on to JG because he has that motor and never quits. His contract must be team friendly.
