But you mentioned it at the beginning they got rid of their best defensive defenseman. Now they’ve got two pylons who are totally defensively, clueless, and a bunch of middle of the road defensemen. They have to hope that some of these young guys can come up but so far nobody has stood out. It’s still burns the hell out of me that they’ve wasted all that money and cap space on Karlsson.
Yep the contract clauses are a deal breaker for PIT to consider. Best of luck to him and OConnor at Vancouver.
Idk what to think. I do know this… I trust Kyle Dubas like I trust a wet fart
Idk how you can say a team with Rackell, Crosby, Malkin, Letang, Karlsson, Rust, is in a "rebuild" no their run by the some of the worst people in sports who want you to believe what this show does… this is the best they can do… last place. Its absurd
If that same contract had ben signed here in Pittsburgh, within the first 2 seasons, fans would be screaming about the bad contract that shouldn't have been signed and needs unloaded. He's a good defenseman but he's not worth $5 million+ per year, particularly when there are no guarantees that he'll play above and beyond the last 2 seasons as opposed to his first couple seasons here in Pittsburgh. The Penguins need to stop making stupid long term, high priced contracts for iffy players. I'd rather see that money go towards younger, more promising talent that's hungry.
Congrats to the D.O.C. and his penalty shot goal in OT yesterday for VAN
of course they fking missed! I told you BEFORE the trade, sign the guy!!! he's your best d-man……
The Penguins are or should be in a rebuild. The Crosby era is over. The best thing they can do is move him to a contender at the deadline. Don't make the same mistake the Canucks did for years. Do the job right. Obviously, that means going through some rough seasons, but you'll get to watch young kids coming up and becoming the next big things. Signing Pettersson made sense in a lot of ways for the Canucks because whether anyone likes it or not, they'll never rebuild and they want to win now, whether that's feasible or not. The Penguins are an American team and if they do it right, they can probably get away with a few bad years before they rebound. In Canada, that's a lot more difficult. The Ottawa Senators a few years ago announced a rebuild and it was highly controversial. There was even talk of the owner selling the team and it perhaps being moved. I know Pittsburgh had similar issues before Crosby went there. What they need is to get a marquee draft pick or a few in the next few years to build the next generation around and have a marketing campaign around them so that the fans are on board with what you're doing. If you don't have fan support, you're right back to where the franchise was in the early 2000s. You'll have to get Mario and Sid to bail out the team again. I just wish Canadian fan bases would abandon their team like American fans do and maybe there'd be urgency to do rebuilds properly. Instead, Canada hasn't won a Cup since 1993, and the main reason is that the fans have zero stomach for proper rebuilds. If the team is on the way down, they want a quick retool and a playoff spot immediately. That just leads to mediocrity. Don't make the same mistake. Draft and develop well, get a few elite prospects and build the team around them.
Can anybody answer me this question please how come nobody ever can criticize Kris Letang people you do realize he has been horrible the last 2 years but the best part about it is there's still 3 years left on his contract that is horrible but yet just glass over it
Pettersson and O'Connor are awesome. Thanks 🐧😊
The cracks in his game was a crappy team to play on.
No. The pens just need to start rebuilding.
On Hockey night in canada Bieksa said Petterson is basically a tall skinny version of Chris Tanev. Awesome if thats the case. Hopefully, they will sign O'Conner quickly as well.
Pit cant afford to resign him as it already tie up 20M+ for 3 def (age 34/37/30)
Well we'll have to wait for the first rounder to be picked or traded to see if they missed.
thx for taking our dead weight
We’ve had our eyes on Petersson for about 3yrs now
He’s a perfect 3 or 4 for Van
