Why is Lafreniere such a disappointment? Who has declared that this kid who is only 23 is going to be a 50 goal scorer or a 100pt player? in 380 games he has 193 points. Let's compare him to Nikita Kucherov. It took 4 seasons for him to score 40 goals and 85 points. Let's face it Nikita Kucherov is a higher quality player, so if it took him 4 seasons to become NHL ready? Kid needs more time.
As it stands hes not worth near 7mil if he doesnt put up at least 70 points this year i say move him , 300 plus games is a decent sample size im fine if he goes.
"Hockey Insiders" are nice – but I am curious what Coach Sullivan thinks he can get out of this player. Another no scoring, no checking, no trying season – sit Laffy, give a young guy the minutes and make a trade. If the guy suddenly is motivated and catches fire – go with him.
The best thing that vould happen for Laffy is to get out of NY. Although I think with Sullivan coming in it will help a lot of these young players. I would keep what we got and see what happens in Sullys system. I have great confidence it will be noght and day compared to last year.
