  1. Samoskevich is probably gonna start on the second line with Verhaeghe and Bennett. He played quite a lot there at the end of last season and had good chemistry especially with Bennett.

  2. Good breakdown. Thanks. I expect Chucky to be injured after the Olympics but hopefully back for the playoffs.
I think we will shuffle players around for the first part of the year. Just to get everyone used to playing everywhere and develop some chemistry.
I wouldn't be surprised if coach rotates whole lines similar to the end of last year. That would also help with load management.
I think Bob might play less, maybe 50 games. I think he was at 55 last year.

  3. To start the year, its going to be a tandem of Samoskevich and Boqvist likely taking turns playing in the second line. Whichever of the two does best, they are will become the permanent, or as close to, Tkachuk replacement. Likely that decision will be done between games 10-15, so about the end of October. Luostarinen makes no sense moving to the second line, when he and Lundell are pretty much a pair at this point.

  4. Panthers are stacked again and ready. They have all the parts. Odds on favorite but man 3 times in a row is crazy hard.

  5. Samoskevich will almost certainly take Tkachuk’s spot on the second line. He was there for a large chunk of last season and showed a ton of chemistry with Bennett.

  6. Ty for your hard work and dedication sir ❤ looking forward to another blessed season LETS GO CATS 🏆🏆…..🏆

  7. The forward lines will be:
    Verhaeghe/Rodrigues Barkov Reinhart
    Rodrigues/Verhaeghe Bennett Samoskevich
    Luostarinen Lundell Marchand
    Grier Nosek Gadjovich/Boqvist

  8. I think a lot of people are overrating the Panthers chances. I'm not saying they are bad, but they do have issues. Matthew Tkachuk will be gone for half the season and then they will need to dump cap space when he comes back. That hurts. Also, their star goalie is just days away from turning 37 and their backup was basically unplayable last year. Furthermore, they don't have a single other goalie who has played a single NHL game. So they are one season-ending injury from missing the playoffs. I guess they could sign James Reimer, but at 37, he's unlikely to be able to lead the team either.

Anyone who thinks they are going to threepeat without issue is not taking their problems seriously. I'm not saying it won't happen, but when a single injure can end your season, you are in trouble.

  9. ..depth wins..anybody anywhere anytime…no superstars or overpaid..players preferred destination..could win more until the Habs unseat them..

  10. Making trip to DC on MLK weekend for Panthers vs Caps since I'm thinking it'll be Ovi's last season. Hoping Chucky is back in the lineup by then as well.

  11. I could see a team in need of a first line centre trading for Anton Lundell, $5m cap hit isn't bad for someone I believe can be a very good top centre

  12. I just don't see anyone in the east challenging them right now, they are a perfectly built team for the play offs with no real weakness

  13. I wonder IF Lauren Brossiot is healthy, if the Panthers make a play for him. As for Florida overall, I think they are a better playoff team than a regular season team. The question is, can they go to the cup final a fourth straight year? I'd favor Florida against any one team, but I think someone will get them. It's just too hard to go four straight. I don't love Florida, I don't hate Florida, I do respect what they have done. If they do it again, big stick tap to them.

  14. Its gonna be an absolute treat to watch Florida this season to see if they make history, they are an absolute powerhouse

  15. Looking for the dynasty. They are my preseason pick. I think no Tkachuk and them pacing themselves will make them not win the division like most will say. 2nd in the Atlantic with 102-107 points.

  16. Let’s go for the threepeat boys! Vamos Gatos!!

Boqvist and Gadjovich should and I think will be forwards 13 and 14. Mackie and Bennett have good chemistry so he will definitely replace Chucky in the meanwhile. I love Gadjovich but he does get injured a lot, so I can see Kunin taking his spot on the 4th line.

  17. Fun fact: Mackie Samoskevich assisted on Sam Bennett's 1st goal of these past playoffs, which also happened to be the 1st overall goal of the Panthers' playoff run. Rook lit the lamp for the cup run not bad

  18. It's so funny how amnesiac everyone gets once a team gets good.

Everyone said Vegas was a joke after their draft. Hockey can't work in Vegas. Then they've been dominant and everyone says how unfair the draft was in their favor.

Everyone said Florida needs to move. They don't have fans. They will never have fans. No one wants to go there to play. Then they win the cup and everyone says how unfair it is in Florida's favor because of taxes.

  19. I think the season will involve quite a bit of shuffling of the lines, while keeping Barkov-Reino and Lundell-Lousty together. I think Samo definitely has the potential to be in the top six and could see him having a monster year and a huge contract at the end of it. In some ways, it could end up being a good thing that Tkachuk is out for so long as it means that players have something to fight for during the season, and step up. And it gives Maurice the opportunity to mix up lines in case one (or more) of our players get injured during the Olympics. Which, face it, will probably happen.

Given the schedule, they need to start really strong to lock up their playoff spot, knowing that they'll probably be struggling again after the Olympic break. Not sure I really believe in a threepeat but can definitely see them winning another one in the next 2-3 years.

  20. Problem with the Olympic "brake" for Florida is that they will have 7-9 players at the olympics. (Barkov, Reinhart, Tkachuk, Luostarinen, Lundell, Forsling and Mikkola 100% / Bennett and Marchand possibly)

  21. Two more years to win another Cup for the faux Bettman Dynasty & two more years & two more Cups for a true dynasty.

  22. I don't know if they can win a third, Bob is turning 37 as a starter and that's when goalies transition to back up, fatigue and injuries are going to be worse for them as they already lost one of their best forwards till the end of the year (and that's if they're lucky) and the olympics might cause more problems for them. I say they can make the playoffs, but not the Stanley cup finals.
