Yserman has a reputation for being a tough negotiator and it's biting him
No matter how much Chris Illitch is a bad owner for the Tigers, there is zero evidence that he has restricted Yzerman. Now there was a rumor that he wouldnt shell out the money for Stamkos. Let's say that is true, Stamkos would have been a huge disaster for this team's current future. 8+ million for 5 years would have been an anchor contract that would have killed us. We spend to the cap, so not sure how Steve is being sabotaged. Also, every single good FA this offseason, they didnt want to come here. Either they resigned for their team, signed with a team they wanted, or wouldnt even take a meeting with Detroit. Until this team's youth shows out, we wont be getting any of those FA's wanting to come here, that is why we havent gotten any FA's. I wish Steve would take a big shot a trade, where we give up something we dont want to and get something we need.
You guys need to make a dedicated podcast video exposing Chris Illitch’s awful ownership with the Red Wings and the Tigers. I need evidence, testimonies, and sources that go into such a deep dive.
I think SY is doing it to himself and he should have just kept going through the youth movement especially how the Rookies played for them last season, didn’t need old FAs and especially not more non goal scoring on the bottom six. He will get heat if Gibson flames out or is injured too much. The defense needs a lot of work. The younger Dmen are the best they have. Can’t keep waiting for them to be out of waivers to play the defense in GR. He has talent in Wallinder and Buium. And he needs to see what they can do if not trade them for something.
What needs to happen next I think Bergs and Ras should be packaged together for a top 4 Dman, it will not happen because they are probably going to make it so no team will touch either one especially Ras he had a lot of time in the top six and never got better
Look at the teams in the first 6 games and it could be a 0and5 start or 6 game losing streak.
Lions are happy to have an owner who cares and Chris I needs to sell the team because he is not his Father he doesn’t have the time to be a winner. I think at this point tank and hopefully get a top six prospect.
Just my opinion, this team doesn’t have what it takes to win, Larkin is not a leader and has never said that he was the problem. He has called out the team many times except himself. A real Captain will say I need to be better and play as a team not worry about individual stats.
Problem is that they don’t want to rush prospects because they want to sign them for cheap

That being said I think it sucks we are not a playoff team yet but we need to own and set our expectations accordingly as in hope for a high draft pick in the next 2 seasons and with Steve's draft success we will be a contender for the next decade

I think it’s going to be a buyers market as the season progresses. Teams are going to tank for the next draft. I expect us to make a move or two at some point.

I dont understand the chris illitch hate. There is a salary cap yzerman has spent to the cap almost every year. How has chris stopped yzerman from doing anything. Also the tigers offered bregman the most money of any team. Please tell me how that happens if chris isnt on board??? Skubal is represented by scott boris. He is going to end up lwaving the tigers to go to a big market. It will not be on chris ilitch.
