I hope peca is the next sabres head coach. I've wanted this man ever since they fired ruff. Greatest sabres cap'n (crunch) all-time!!
The reason that Peterka isn’t a Sabre anymore is BECAUSE he didn’t put in the effort on the back check like Peca just said he was doing. But like the way he described Peterka, J.J. thought everything he did was at its highest level.
The problem is that Ruff and the team would call him out of his lack of backcheck and his defensive liabilities and Peterka didn’t like it. So as a result, he apparently didn’t want to play in a place where he was being criticized. Not to mention being less than thrilled with being demoted to the 2nd line.
And before the Sabres playoff drought is brought up, Utah aren’t exactly “Playoff Dynamo’s” themselves. Missing more than they’ve made it, so that clearly didn’t stop him from signing with Utah. So between the demotion and not taking criticism, until I hear otherwise, I’m going to assume that his Ego is the reason he’s not in Buffalo anymore.
The fact that not a single Sabres player spoke out about him being missed or what kind guy he was actually says a lot.
I knew the first comment was gonna be someone in Buffalo saying we need him back. You people never learn. If he wanted to be there he could be and you know it
His first pro hockey season was in Germany.
He has talent, but he's not that big, hasn't scored more than 28 goals in a season and doesn't play defense. The Sabres were better off with 19 year Zach Benson in Peterkas place on the top line. JJ finished the season on the 3rd line.
