Why didn't they just use a real pit crew for the scene?
They actually do check the wing, the tyre thing is funny but considering each time they change a tyre they sheer off the nut its not cheap!

It’s necessary as the front wing can sometimes be a little stressed, so the pit crew let it know it’s doing a great job by comforting it with pats.

They used to do this to ensure that no tyre marbles were stuck between the wing elements. Can't say as I've noticed it done for a while but it was definitely a genuine thing the teams did

It reminds me of a Donald Duck cartoon which he was walikng on pavement but in slow motion he was hiding rubbish everywhere around, he even opened a car door and put rubbish in a dog's mouth:))
