Demonstration of how to wrap meet with Butcher Paper (Freezer Paper). This is fast and easy, and it stores the meat well in the freezer. Pre-cut the pieces of paper. Then wrap from one corner diagonally across the paper to the opposite corner, tucking in the sides as you go. Wrap the paper tightly. Use two pieces of paper per package. This gives you a nice, neat package. One piece of tape holds the corner down.
The same technique can be used when boxing up personal belongings for storage, mailing, or moving. I have seen professional movers do this with everything from nick knacks to loose items in drawers. Use unprinted newsprint. No tape required. The paper pads the items, and contains them in the box. Fast and easy.

Its just like the way I roll my burritos.
Do we use the waxy coat side on the meat or the paper side? Please help!
Which side goes the plastic/coated side?
Ok. Question. Regular butcher paper has no waxy side. Soooooo. How do you prevent the paper from sticking to it when you thaw? I am forever having to rinse the paper off. What a mess.
Is there a standard sizing method for how big a square you need ? thatnks
If I may throw my 2 cents to improve upon what you have done here with no disrespect intended. – 1. Slap on some freezer plastic sheets (that come pre cut in packets like tissue paper, same concept as one pops up when you take one out) on to the meat before the paper. 2. Have a iron on full heat (Linen setting) and you can iron the end corners shut with out using the tape. It seals the whole packet in. I noticed my butcher sliding the made up packets across a steel plate mounted flush with the work surface and upon asking was told it was a hot plate that did this in one instant. You have to use Freezer paper (which is the same grade as butcher paper but with one side waxy or has a plastic coating.
I use this method for deer, moose and bear. I have fished out cuts from 3 years ago and still been good. Probably not as a steak but as stew or for currying. Good luck and thanks for posting this.
Where we can find the butcher paper .Please tell me.
All I have is Christmas wrapping paper and frankly, I need to use it up. Oh wait, I just found some typing paper, although, they are only 11×9 I’m fairly certain they will still work. My question is, will scotch tape work in freezer or should I use up the Christmas ribbon and bows? If you think that the bows don’t matter, let me remind you that the bows also have sticky tape on the bottoms and it’s my idea that the red bows can signify the beef, the pink bows pork and the yellow bows for chicken. I know, I know, I’m pretty proud of myself for coming up with that system.
If you use freezer wrap for store bought meat, should you wrap it over the store wrapping or take it out and just use the freezer wrap?
how do you wrap a whole chicken?
I go to a place in chicago named Paulina Meat Market.
This video saved my ass, you seriously have no idea. I started working at a gourmet deli, I was struggling tremendously to the point where the most trained manager was beginning to lose his patience with me (and for many a good reason on his behalf), you have no idea how grateful I am knowing this has been uploaded.
Do we always have to double wrap our meat or can it just be single wrapped
Is parchment paper and butcher paper the same thing?
Shit, that’s beautiful.
I'm thinking of applying for a meat wrapping position so this helped :]
Thanks for this video. I work at an Amazon Fresh specifically the meat and seafood section and always had a hard time wrapping meat and seafood for customers lol
How do you defrost it? (when it's in butcher paper)??
Just discovered butcher paper. No more freezing plastic
