  1. There's players older than phil the thrill that are still in the league, i think if he had half an effort without the puck he'd still be in the league.
If nylandr keeps playing with little effort without the puck he could be out of the league early too

  2. Genuine feedback, as someone who watches a ton of your videos, having to sit through a rant about commenters at the start of so many of your videos this off season has been making me watch you less. Its always the same arguements and its so frequent. Please just ignore them 99% of the time and make the video

  3. Doug Gilmour, Mike Komisarek, Darcy Tucker, Tomas Kaberle, Tomas Plekanec, Vincent Damphousse, Shayne Corson, Max Domi, Max Paccioretty, Russ Courtnall, Mathiew Schneider, Ryan Obyrne, Capt Kirk Muller, Sylvain Lefebvre, Hal Gill, Gaston Gingras, Gary Leeman, Ron Hainsey.
So many former habs played for the leafs. few had more success in Toronto. none won a cup there either lol

  4. Vaive, Sittler, Sundin, Gilmore, Potvin, Clarke… have a haye for the leafs, so I didnt mind certain players on their team, when the team was bad.

  5. I remember Jerry "Bugsy" Butler. He originally came up with the Rangers and was very tough. That's probably why the Canucks wanted him but he wasn't worth Vaive and Derlago.

Oh man favorite Leaf? Phil Kessel of course. As a kid I remember being impressed by a young guy named George Ferguson. I thought he was gonna be a big star. He never did but he had a good career. Also Eddie Shack and Ron Ellis.

  6. Bobby Baun. Always the chance to see a legendary body check when he was on the ice. Eddie Shack, of course. I got to see his antics live one night. What a guy. Uncle Leo! Leo Komarov. Palmateer's theatrics were always fun to watch. And of course, my #1, Dave Keon.

  7. Leafs were my 1st Fave team growing up. Vividly remember when Hockey Night in Canada featured Darryl Sittler scoring 10 points in a game. Loved Lanny McDonald, Börje Salming and had their hockey cards when I first started collecting. First playoff series I vividly remember was when the Leafs upset the heavily favoured Islanders in 1978. My aunt was staying with us and her nephew through marriage was Lorne Henning. As a Sasky kid, she got me to convert to being an Isalnder's fan … She said Islanders were Saskatchewan's team since they had so many Sasky players (Chico Resch, Clark Gillies, Bryan Trottier, Bob Bourne, Dave Lewis & Lorne Henning). Crazy memories of Mike Palmateer making crazy acrobatic saves. Wendel Clark was the 2nd NHL player I met. I was friends with Kelly Chase' little brother and we played a game of pool against them at Greenwater Park in Saskatchewan. It was a pretty cool experience.

  8. Brings back memories. My memory goes a bit further back and remember watching Sittler, Lanny, Salming, Tiger, Mike Palmanteer. Keon. So my list would vary from yours There were a couple more goalies who were popular. I did feel some empathy for the team. Even as a kid I knew ownership was not good. But as for your favorites I would have chosen them to. Anyone have Dion on their list?

  9. I have the opposite opinion, I think marner is still a favourite of a ton of people (like yourself) who are overrating him. He will fall over the years he really showed even on team Canada how mediocre he is.

He can’t drive his own line. He can’t show up in big moments. He can’t pay physical. He has to fix his mental game to be effective in Vegas.

  10. Harold Ballard was being asked by fans to trade Salming to a contending team and he responded by stating that Toronto would win a cup before Salming retired, knowing all along that they wouldn't. His only interest was money and he knew that he could put a lousy team on the ice but they would still sell out every game. Unfortunately he was right.

  11. My Dad just passed away. I was in the ICU and saw 20 other families at the worst moments of their lives. All I have now is love for everyone who needs it the most.

Thinking of you and Yvonne. You are a fantastic human Shannon. I love you both.

  12. Great video! Roberts is an awesome guy and definitely agree he deserves the HHOF. As someone who grew up in Whitby it was awesome seeing Nieuwendyk and Roberts play for the leafs. I respect your list, although I woulda snuck Darcy Tucker on there, but I’m also younger than you so I’d have room. 👍

  13. Toronto fan here and I have to say great list. I may have had a different order or maybe some differnt names but I can't argue the logic you spelled out.
As a side note the more I watch of your videos the more respect I have for your hockey knowledge.

  14. I remember watching CuJo and Rod Brind'Amour play in the SJHL (Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League) for the Notre Dame Hounds. That team was CRAZY good and would win the Centennial Cup that year. Surprised that Cujo was never drafted by an NHL team.

  15. I wouldn't have complained about the list until you put Rielly. He's the most overrated, overpaid defenseman in the league. I'd be fine with him if he got paid 2 million a year. But his salary for his shit effort on defense is such a mis-match. I can't imagine this guy being on anyone's "favorite" player list for any team.

  16. As a kid who grew up in the 80's, i HAVE to say that mm and am go NOWHERE near my top ten.

    1. clark
    2. dougie
    3. tucker
    4. Felix
    5. Salming
    6. Williams
    7. Sundin
    8. Roberts
    9. Joseph
    10. Bobby Mcann (yup. workman. 20 goals.)

  17. Good list for the younger folks. My favs are the following in no particular order.

    1. Borje Salming
    2. Johnny Bower
    3. George Armstrong
    4. Bob Pulford
    5. Bob Baun
    6. Tim Horton
    7. Dick Duff
    8. Carl Brewer
    9. Norm Ullman
    10. Rick Vaive
    11. Terry Sawchuk
    12. Paul Henderson
    13. Tiger Williams
    14. Mike Palmateer
    15. Vincent Damphousse
    16. Eddie Shack
    17. Dave Keon
    18. Gary Leeman
    19. Pat Quinn
    20. Al Iafrate

  18. Marner on this list is an insult to every player on the 92-93-94 teams who hustled, grinded and worked so hard to pull that team ahead of great teams like Detroit.
