  1. Notice the heart they played with. Pretty much a corporate systematic game these days. Boring.

  2. This is Number 3 of 4 Cups that I never thought I would get to see My Detroit Red Wings win! I know they had to beat the "Canes. (I've been a fan since the 70's so it looked bleak.)

  3. How did the Wings not win more Cups? I can understand the Avs taking them down again when the league did little to mask their intention of getting Bourque a Cup. But those Red Wings teams from 95 to 2010 were absolutely loaded with talent. They should have had 6 maybe 7 championships in that span. Was it the 95 team that won 62 games? Then got swept by a Devils team that were 5 guys standing on their own blue line. And how many times did they lose in the first round? Too many. Somewhat underachieving for the level of talent.

  4. @ 17:20 one of my all time favorite hockey moments.
Patrick effed himself so hard. His Karma bill came due and Maltby cashed that βœ…!
Nobody deserved it more, and I mean BOTH of em!! πŸ˜‚
A play that will live in infamy! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ†πŸ˜ƒ

  5. This was the 2002 Stanley Cup Finals. What a heavyweight prize fight this was. Series changed at 41:25. THE GOAL COUNTS THE GOAL COUNTS THE GOAL COUNTS

  6. The NHL completely peaked before the cap era and you can't convince me otherwise. Parity is all smoke and mirrors lol

It's been Hawks, Pens, Kings, and Tampa for the most part. It's was only until 2022 that you saw parity coming through, and even then teams like the Predators, CBJ, Arizona/Utah/, Minnesota (They're good now) have barely done shit respectfully. Dynasties are needed for storylines

The Salary cap was the worst thing to ever happen to the league

  7. This was the golden age of hockey in the NHL … Player qualities in terms of the technique of hardness of individual qualities … Unmatched with today's laced primaadons … honor exceptions of course…the best team ever Red Wings had

  8. It's like yesterday, I was so happy, and I still am…
When Holmstrom tipped that unbelievable goal, I knew that we were going to WIN the Stanley fkn Cup!!!!!

  9. I put these videos on in the background but every time game 7 comes on I watch it. For posterity. Every. Single. Time.

Colorado can eat ass, this version of the team especially. Roy was one of the biggest, most whiny bitches in the NHL.

  10. Ahh yes, the Game 7 for the ages. I was at that game with my dad.

We had 2 sets of season tickets (my dad often gave them away to people he worked with):

-3 seats in the 1st row of the upper deck, right behind the net that the Wings attacked twice. These were the best, as the upper deck was elevated and you could see EVERYTHING. There was also a ledge with the railing that we could use as a mini table.

-2 seats in the front row near the top of the circle of the end the Wings defended twice, on the penalty box side.

Anyways, I’ve been to a lot of Wings games. But the Joe was going absolutely nuts for this one. We could hardly believe what was happening because there weren’t too many blowouts like this throughout the Red Wings / Avs rivalry.

But this game was a complete beat down right off the rip. Two goals in the first 3 minutes and 17 seconds. Three within the first 10 minutes and 25 seconds and the fourth in the first 12 minutes and 51 seconds. The fans were going WILD. The Avs were completely deflated before the end of the 1st period. So despite the fact that any level of suspense was taken away, I’ll remember this game until the day I die.
