Nah in hindsight I would have traded Pettersson.
Obviously should have kept Horvat. Miller has been a cancer since first drafted by the Rangers. Even king Henrik got him kicked out of new york the 1st time. And he got kicked out of tampa for being a cancer.
Should have traded the cancer miller 3 years ago. Once a cancer always a cancer.
Miller's 103 P was higher than Petey's 102 P. With anything in life, context matters.
1. Petey played 80 games and Miller 82 games, Petey's ppg was higher.
2. Petey's season was with a non playoff team vs Miller's was with a first place division team. Way more impressive getting a 102 points on a bad team.
3. Petey had 68 even strength points vs Miller had 61 even strength points. Even strength points are harder to get than on the power play.
4. Petey was also 7th in Selke voting his 102 points season.
Petey's best regular season peak was better than Miller. If you don't agree, show me your argument? Thanks!
Just because someone is acting like a Petey Police, it doesn't mean they think Petey had a good season and is worth 11.6 M. You need to distinguish between the two. I defend Petey, I think Petey had a bad season and is not worth the 11.6, I am not happy with his performance. The biggest issue I have is you always say things about Petey that is not true or such a disingenuous opinion.
Here are some examples:
1. Made up stuff confirming Petey is bad defensively: I don't need to elaborate anymore, since I gave you lots of evidence confirmed you're wrong.
2. Once you said Petey only produces against bad teams: Not true, the line change made a YouTube video about confirming Petey does produce against good teams well. Please watch it.
3. You once said Canucks are better without Petey in the lineup: not true, last season Canucks are 31 24 9 with Petey and 7 6 5 without Petey.
4. That ridiculous video you did about Suter being around the same level as Petey last year. You decided to ignore every stat Petey is higher than Suter is.
5. If you're looking at his 11.6 M to determined he had a bad season last year than you need to look at his 1 M salary and his 7.35 M for other seasons as well. It's more than 3 good seasons.
6. You once said one of the reason why Canucks didn't make the playoffs was because of injuries. You can use your injuries to defend your argument on another topic. Yet we can't use injuries to defend Petey's production.
Miller only has 12 G 44 A 56 P in 91 career playoffs games vs Petey has 8 G 16 A 24 P in 30 playoff games. I'm not going to say Petey's career playoff ppg is better. That will be disingenuous since most of Miller's playoff games was not the same player he is right now.
I am going to say Miller did had a better playoff in 2024, 12 P for Miller vs 6 P for Petey. I am going to say Petey was more clutch and played better in big games than Miller.
There are no bigger games than elimination games, Canucks played 4, game 5, 6 vs Nash and game 6 and 7 vs Oilers.
Everyone will have a different definition of the word clutch. I think we can all agree is when you score a big goal or made a big play on a big goal. There are no bigger goals than ot goals, late third period game winning goals and game tying goals with the goalie pulled. Canucks scored 7 that fits this criteria. Ot goal from Lindholm for game 4 vs Nash. 2 Late game tying goals from Boeser vs Nash in game 4, from Joshua in game 4 vs Edm. Late game winning goals in the third from Suter for game 6 vs Nash, Garland for game 1 vs Edm, Miller game 5 vs Edm.
Petey was involved in 5 out of the 7 big goals. He had an assist on one of Boeser's game tying goal, Suter and Miller's game winning goals. Won the faceoff that led to Joshua's game tying goal, game 4 vs nash stick check Scissons, prevented him to go on the forehand for the empty net goal. This play doesn't get done from Petey. Canucks lose game 4.
Miller was involved in 3, the two late game tying goals from Boeser and the game winning goal he scored in game 5 vs Edm.
During the elimination games, game 5, 6 vs Nash and game 6, 7 vs Oilers. Canucks only scored 5 goals. 0 points from Miller and wasn't involved in any goals. 2 P from Petey, assisted on Hoglander's game 6 goal vs Edm and Suter's game 6 goal. Game 7 vs Edm, didn't get a point but he did forecheck hard on McLeod that led to the giveaway for the Garland goal.
I am not going to be disingenuous and say Petey was better in the playoffs. Miller was definitely better in the playoffs but Pettersson was more clutch and played better in bigger games than Miller. Do you agree? If you don't show me your argument that Miller was more clutch and played better in the bigger games.
