Signing aging past their prime B level free agents is Nills approach to everything. The Stars can never hope to come out of this perpetual vortex of mediocrity following this plan. It's so damn frustrating to see them try and build a contender this way. How many ways can you try and shuffle the Benns and Seguins around expecting a sudden rise in productivity before you realize it's NOT GOING TO CHANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They had their opportunities, multiple ones, and they just could never make it happen so it's time to change the gaurd and build this team around young productive and hungry talent.
Holtby is terrible and a screwball and Suter is grossly overpaid and grossly overrated. And he’s 36 years of age. Waste of money. As is his boyfriend Zach Parise. Those two goobers accomplished NOTHING at terrible Minnesota Wild. Darren Pang: weiner.
Being in a hockey pool every year we do a lot of inter chit chat and especially about goalies since they are a hot topic in the pick selections.I have said for the past 4 years that Holtby is an awful goalie,like real bad.I never followed him much until i picked him up as my second goalie in the hockey pool and that is when i really saw how bad he was/is.This pickup is going to kil Dallas especially if an injury forces them to use him full time.I have no idea what Stars scoutingddoes but they must be looking at Holtby with sunglasses on.
Suter i am good with,solid D men are hard to come by and the price tag is very good.The best i can hope for is that Holtby never plays but still they wasted money on him,i'd rather have a rookie in his spot.
Would i be making a statement if i said that i wouldn't take Holtby for FREE,you couldn't pay me to take him,Very firstrating as a long time North Star fan to see bad moves like this mad by management.I have noticed a huge decline in Jamie Benn's game the last two years,i would have worked very hard to trade him.So what is going to happen is Benn is going to diminish as a valuable asset to the point they won't get anything for him and then the team sill sufffer greatly because of it. In todays hockey,managment is every bit as important as the team,you need to make good moves,good contracts and keep the young talent coming.

i think we are all witnessing the beginning of the end of holtby's career. thus, he was all hype when he first put on that canuck jersey…
I wonder if Jim will look at Chara, as a 3rd line D man.
His size and pugilistic ability, might keep the cheap forecheck hits off Klinger & Heiskanen.
Also, prior to bringing Oleksiak back from Pitt., we had a hard time keeping Benn out of the box.
