The Leafs have to make a move for an impact Top 6 Winger now. I would honestly trade Cowan or Robertson at this point, alongside Carlo and the second-round pick we have this year. Necas, Thompson, J Robertson, Rust, and Kempe would all be on my radar. I would likely target Kempe as he is a massive playoff performer and is in a contract year at 5.5Mil, which we can easily extend once we trade for him. Then it becomes an issue of replacing Carlo, which I believe can be done as there are some big-bodied stay-at-home D men in UFA ( I'm looking at Rutta ).
Then it becomes an issue of filling out your depth spots. I think Mangiapane gets signed here as he is excellent defensively, like Marner is, and is excellent on the PK. Tavares, I think, stays as our 2C, and we either go in hard for an Ehlers or maybe the Leafs get a cap dump player? I read that Yzerman is shopping Compher and Copp, and is willing to eat the cap on it, so i would take either at this point

I agree the dress code thing being formally in the CBA is pretty cringe, but it’s willful ignorance to act like they don’t get why. The NHL has the worst social media presence and star creation of any major league sport in North America!! Guys don’t speak their minds in interviews, so god forbid they maybe dress in a way that shows any shred of the personality that every hockey player knows they have inside their own locker rooms
