Harrison: The Jets ELC type players are not seen as the future they are only seen as reinforcements. That is why the True North neither trades nor plays them. True North is not a cup motivated organization, they are a profit driven one. They are not going to let a pesky thing like player development get in the way of their profits. As long as the Jets team is at least making the post season, and keeps the arena full in the regular season, then True North is content. This is sad because a lot of young players careers are being stifled. It's also sad for Jets fans because they don't realize they are being duped by an ownership that has no real cup aspirations. Now that's not to say True North wouldn't take a cup win if it fell on their lap. However, they will not take the necessary risks needed to win a cup. They will never trade for the post season help they need, because that means trading away the reinforcements for future regular season wins. They will not risk regular season losses by developing players. Eventually True North will face having to rebuild and at that time I think the team will be sold. Just my 2 cents.
The existence of no trade clauses will kill the jets franchise. It's impossible for them to get the necessary players
