Should the Leafs pair Tyson Barrie with Morgan Rielly?
OverDrive host Bryan Hayes and Dave Poulin discuss the Leafs’ acquisition of Tyson Barrie which seemed to get lost in the shuffle and debate what kind of impact he could have the defensive core and who he might be partnered with.

I'm hoping they play around with it this year…seeing how the raps used the reg season to toy around with lineups and how the injuries of Gardiner and Dermott screwed us over (plus Kadri)should convince Babs that the reg season is a warm-up for the playoffs and we need to be versatile
I get what Poulin is saying and that's all well and good, but I'm not sure it's the smart play. What's better? 24:00 minutes per game of Rielly/Barrie together or like 48 minutes a game with one of these two guys on the ice. That means, at most, only like ~15 minutes of the game we're missing an elite offensive defenseman on the ice. I think the latter makes us an absolute nightmare to defend with the quality of forwards we're gonna turn back at the opposition. Also, logically, in my head, Barrie goes with Muzzin because Rielly is the best of the 3. He's the most likely to be able to carry his pairing – as he's done with Hainsey for years.

Power Play 4 sure take a few games for the new look D to get settled pre season doesn't really help so on paper sure but paper isn't ice.

Here is what i would do: i would put barrie on the offense line because from the way i see it he thinks offensively
