Trouba hit on Kyrou – Tough Call Recommendation

Jacob Trouba hit Jordan Kyrou with what could be the single most poorly executed attempt at a body check I’ve ever seen. At any level.

  1. The officiating was horrible. Brayden schenn, and Trouba fought after the hit and they both got five minute penalty’s for the fight, but schenn got a 2 minute penalty as well for either, roughing or unsportsmanlike. Trouba didn’t even get a penalty for it, but the guy who fought him did. I have no idea what they were thinking.

  2. Desperate effort to make a hit; however, I believe the shoulder was the primary point of contact, thus I think it's legal.

  3. Come on Tough Call. Evidently, you didn't watch game 6 last year between Florida and the Rangers. By the same player no less. Trouba's attempted hit near the blue line led to the Panthers first goal.

  4. Trouba is an angry moron , why he is stil in the NHL is a gaint joke!
Are they waiting till he ends somones career?

  5. Between this and the non-review of the Dickinson hit on Chytil , DoPS has officially lost the plot.

  6. STL fan, was mystified watching live. He left his feet as part of his upward thrusting motion of his shoulder. The initial and primary point of contact was Kyrou’s ear hole, coming almost directly from behind where all you could mostly see were his number and name plate. That’s two minutes for charging at a minimum for leaving his feet, even before you get into intent to injure, initiating contact from behind, repeat offender status and all the extra stuff.

If Kyrou isn’t concussed he should thank his lucky stars and put this down as a valuable learning experience. Have to be more aware of surroundings on that piece of valuable real estate on ice, and even more so when a goon is lurking for fresh meat.
