Don't count on Rossi sticking around term.

I’m glad I’m not alone in my frustration in what LaPanta has said about Rossi the past couple of months. ‘Just take the deal. Good for both sides. Life changing money. Corronato is a better player.’ I hope Rossi uses that as motivation and shoves it down this organization’s throat this season.
I’d be fine if he signs a $5x2years I think that would be good for Rossi and the Wild. I do agree that teams probably want to see at least 1 more good season from him to prove to them he is worth investing in. I think that’s where the Wild are at too. Obviously he’s an above average player but at 5’9” he needs to prove more if he wants to be a top 6 regular on a competing team.
I also want to add I did think it was not good that he was below Guadreau and Nyquist but I understand what they were thinking putting him on the 4th. He’s still very young and not completely proven especially for the playoffs and I think that’s what’s causing the holdup on agreeing to the ballpark he wants for a contract or teams giving the Wild what they want for a trade.

Like all players – if Rossi comes in and lights it up, he’ll be 1C or 2C as it always about winning. Prove it – play well and things will take care of themselves. I like Rossi, but this will iron itself out on the ice – if he plays well, his money will come from somewhere. Sign for 1-2 years and put up 60 points both seasons and leave if need be.
