Laine will be our top scorer this year. Rememberr Rigatoni called it! Been saying it for a month now.

Patrick Laine est en mode séduction, il veut rester ici et fait tout pour cela. Le voir jouer avec des enfant, rester pour une longue séquence d'autographe puis l'entendre dire qu'il se voit très bien jouer à long terme à Montréal indique la qualité humaine de l'équipe. Tout ça pour dire que Nick est un grand capitaine.
Matheson would be perfect for the Oilers. But I would rather keep him.
Trade him for a 2C. Of course more will be needed. His value is at a max now. They aren’t winning the cup this year so move forward.
The thing with laine he could take the spot of zharovsky and I don't like that
I really could see Laine having a real take off year, and then signing a discout to stay here ( like 4 year, 7 mil )
50 goals is a bit too ambitious for Laine without him being to skate well around the ice.
Matheson will not accept a 3rd pairing role in his contract year. The only way to properly evaluate laine this season is if he is playing with an appropriate center that can get the most out of him.

Matheson is one of the league’s most elite skaters.. and is a valuable player, who truly wants to play in Montreal…rare. Unless his trade can bring in a McTavish-like 2C, then keep him, his abilities and veteran leadership . NO RUSH.
If Wi-Fi is playing in AHL and we can get a NHL caliber player it's worth it
I wouldn't sign Laine yet. He was horrific at times, despite his PP shot.
Gotta say, I am extremely old school about loyalty. But that sentiment was born from the 1970s before players made serious money. I admit that I as a fan do not like to see players leave. Montreal now as of 2025 seems to have a team attitude of wanting to be there.
Not sure if most people understand what I am trying to say here.

If Laine produces this year, he will be re-signed but no where near his last contract.
Imagine… Dobson – Ghoulie Hutson – Carrier Arber – Reinbacher… It can be crazy sick, but of course I removed Mathson who might play with Hutson, but I don't know. I think Laine will be gone by March unless they are in playoff run. He will not sign, here, I don't care what they say, he will want to much if he scoared 30 to 40.
Matheson must be moved. Xhekaj is a much better fit as third pair LHD. MM is blocking the future

If cap space is an issue, Matheson goes. If not, Struble goes.
