  1. Man… Buffalo is a difficult team to talk about when it comes to the regular season. On paper they are definitely a good team, but Buffalo is likely going to be Buffalo once again this year. They’re fighting in a ferocious Atlantic division but could finish anywhere from 5th to 8th if they prove to be a challenger. If not, 7th to 8th and a bottom 10 team once again. I feel bad for players like Thompson and Tuch, and we’ll see how Mrtka performs this year seeing their previous defensive drafts in Power and Dahlin.

  2. I think we are definitely better than Detroit, Boston and probably better than Montreal. It depends on UPL in my mind. Fingers crossed…

  3. On paper we are not a good team…on paper we have potential and potential just means you've done nothing

  4. I drifted away from following the Sabres, and hockey in general, shortly after they sent Hasek to the Red Wings. It sounds like I haven't missed much, but hopefully they can try to overachieve like they did back then. Probably not, but as someone who's also a longtime fan of the Detroit Lions, maybe a similar turnaround can happen for the Sabres. It'll probably take a similar change in ownership though, so we'll see, I guess.

  5. Question:Are too many players content playing in the NHL for big bucks, instead of playing for the playoffs and success?

  6. Everyone has been waiting for this team to take the next step and they never do. The bad smell isn't just the sewage from the West Side, with ownership's not so secret internal salary cap and bad management choices. Zucker was one of the rare times Sabres management brought in the right kind of veteran to play with the younger players and older players who didn't have good veteran mentors when they were younger players in Buffalo.

  7. I really want Buffalo to get in as a Wild Card at least. The fact that team hasn't been relocated is a testament to how strong the fanbase is. They deserve so much more than palmtrees 😔

  8. Would love to see Buffalo make the playoffs…a underdog story if there ever was one 😅….Anyone in Buffalo know what happened to Melody Martin on youtube??….

  9. I'm a fan of the NHL so there are few teams I really hate. Buffalo has never been one of them. I've always liked Buffalo, that being said, I'm glad I'm not a true fan. Everyone who is on this site knows where Buffalo will end up before the season starts. And that sucks. Also, sending good vibes to Yvonne.

  10. I had hope last year. I was truly disappointed. This year, I have no hope. I see what the Canadians, Red Wings and Senators are doing (improving) and it makes sense. As a die hard fan, I have no idea what they are doing. Hockey Guy loves Quinn's potential (every year). I will still go to the games and watch all their games.

  11. I think my player to watch would be doan because I think to make that trade look good they’ll give him a chance

  12. poor sabres fans 🙁

i'd really like to see the sabres in the playoffs but that seems so unlikely given the peterka trade who know's maybe doan and kesslering help a lot more than what just peterka gave them and maybe dahlin plays like a top 3 dman this league and him and tage somehow drag them into the playoffs. pretty unlikely tho.

  13. They need veterans who have already won to teach the young guys. Waaay too many young players with no leadership.

  14. If you listen to THG, everyone will bounce back and every team is a borderline cup contender. Maybe just a little explanation why they keep missing playoffs? And a high chance will miss this season too.
