  1. We have to collectively hold our wad here… it’s so tempting to want them to dominate right now, and to wonder why Hughes hasn’t got a 2C or whatever else we think they need. Let’s not start doing that thing fans do where we assume because no deal has happened that the GM isn’t trying hard enough. If Kent Hughes hasn’t done that thing you wish he’d done by now, trust the reasoning why. Dach’s situation isn’t ideal, obviously, but there is no need to panic.

  2. Anyone feeling panicked about the Habs not making a move for a 2C this summer needs to chill, they are not going to sacrifice the future for a quick fix, and not give up Reinbacher and Hage right now for players like Mctavish. Its basically moving sideways, not up.

Management is playing chess, while some fans and reporters are thinking its a checkers game and the next move is what brings the cup immediately back to MTL.

Patience will be rewarded, either for trades or with free agency, MTL is getting more and more interesting for UFA’s and some very interesting contracts are ending in 1 or two years.

I absolutely believe that MTL’s cup contention window is not going to start anytime before 2-3 years. This season, they are starting out as the youngest team in the NHL. There is absolutely no rush or panic to be had this season.

Let them build it, they will come

  3. As I recall someone saw Dach working out with weights and the person thought he should be using heavier weights. Knock it off. We will see where he is in a month. I am sure the organization is abridged of where he is and if something is done it won't be done till after the Price contact is moved.

  4. Shaun ā€œI’m a patient guyā€ when talking about Demidov. But has a hot take to get a 2C on a market when the market is scarce. And the price to get one is wayyy to high. Make it make sense. Great show love the combativeness sometimes

  5. They got Veleno because they knew he wasn’t gonna be ready, it’s a way to not sacrifice the future we have to be patient

  6. What was Dach's latest injury? I know it was a knee injury but what kind of injury? ACL? From the timeline it sounds like an ACL. I had my ACL reconstructed a few years ago. The healing process is a bit abnormal. I had full mobility without pain within 3 weeks of the surgery. However, just because there is no pain doesn't mean the joint has healed. I was told that it takes up to 6 months for the repair to fully heal and that I needed to be careful not to re-injure it during this period. Strengthening the muscles, specifically the hamstring because they used part of that tendon, was the longest and hardest part of the recovery. All that said, there is no specific indication when the knee is fully recovered. That's a huge grey area. I would say that if he's not ready to go by the start of training camp, then he's not ready to go a week later. It's more like he'll be ready for training camp and playing games,, but it will take a while to get to 100%.

The other comment I have is with respect to the Bolduc trade. I like Bolduc. I think he's a. guy the Habs need in their lineup. I'm not sure giving up one of their most valuable trade chips (RH top 4 D-man) for a 2nd-3rd line winger was the best use of that asset. Especially when the 2C spot is their most immediate need.

  7. Shaun, I like you BUT you seem to be suffering from notenoughnewsitis. The angle you took about Kent Hugues is off putting. I hope this 'affliction' doesn't last too long…

  8. Dach who knows, but Shawn, dude, you are too hyper. I hope that you're trying to be a proxy for the impatient fan base. But often you strike me as uninformed. Marco deserves a job with a team. He's your foil. You freak out, he tempers it.

  9. Very interesting conversation Shayn and Marco!
I agree with Marco that the 2nd line will be creative with Demidov, but my only concern is, if the Habs don't have a 2nd center to win the draws, Demidov and Laine will be chasingvthe puck all the time.
Unless they use Evans as a two C until they find someone else, Habs can't rely on Dach and Newhook for now.

  10. haha wow Shaun haven't really seen this side of you….I agree 100% with you why or what is Kent Hughes waiting for. They knew Kirby was not ready, the doctors and medical staff are in constant communication with a million dollar player, I don't believe this was just all of a sudden a set back. Montreal has got to get a #2 C period and Dach or Newhook if healthy will not cut it. I also disagree with Marco and that there were no centers available. That is not true there are centers available for trades and Shaun pointed it out, Nazim and Ryan. This is also a stretch with the verbiage "later in the fall", this doesn't mean 2 weeks into the season that is middle of Sept, Fall to me is October IMO. Nazem Kadri the past 4 season has produced over 20 and over 30 goal season, 60-70+ points and for this kind of production for 7 million is a bargain in the current market.

  11. The Habs brass knows they need a 2C. 2C's are in high demand across the league. As such. asking prices are very high for one. Foolish moves are made when you rush something. Patience is key.

  12. These guys 100% put out Clickbait. They have no honesty whatsoever, especially Marco because he knows better I get they want YouTube money but that’s why I report them every day until they tell the truth according to them Reinbacher is 100% healthy put everyone in the knows that he isn’t. There’s more than enough information to put out there at that time but they don’t care about being honest they don’t care about the information that is real. They only care about getting clicks so they can make money. They are the lying list podcast on hockey that exist and that’s why I report them every single day until they stop with the lying. at this point, Reinbacher may never play in the NHL and yet Marco keeps pushing him as a elite prospect. How many elite prospects do you know a 20 years old who have had two major knee reconstructive surgery and one other one that he’s recovering from now stop lying stop trying to fool people into thinking Reinbacher will ever play in the NHL. This is my biggest complaint with them. They know everything about Reinbacher’s injury history they know that his knee may never stand the strain of a regular NHL career so why do they keep pushing him as some sort of elite prospect? It’s because they lie and insist on lying. In none of the last three years has he played a full season he can’t because his knee won’t let them play a full season. Why do you keep lying once again? The Islanders did not want Reinbacher in the Dobson deal because they knew his knee was a train wreck so why do they keep lying about Reinbacher? They keep pushing him as some sort of great prospect. They totally ignore his reconstructive surgeries and they keep saying he’s a wonderful prospect which is 100% a lie. Why does YouTube keep allowing them to do this to put out information that is 100% wrong? Why is Sean starr allowed to keep this channel when he knowingly puts out false misinformation?

  13. First let me say that I appreciate your comments on gambling adds. Second, i feel like fans (and perhaps the media) are not in sync with Habs management at the moment. I feel like last year's playoffs encouraged fans to "accelerate the rebuild" and that HuGo are staying the course. I feel like the team will likely get about the same number of points as last year (low 90s), but they are more likely to miss the playoffs (incredibly rare for a team to make it with only 91pts). And at the moment, they are quite close to the salary cap. This means, to me, that this is not yet the time to make further big moves (beyond Dobson). If the team is not likely to make a deep run and enter the "contender" window, I have no problem waiting for Dach to get back to 100%, even if it takes a couple of extra months.

  14. Isn’t kirby’s face off percentage terrible ? Why do people even consider him as a 2c. He is washed, fragile, and not even good when healthy. I swear his goals weren’t even on purpose half the time last season. Beck or kap on that line is smarter even if dach healthy

  15. Patience the hardest thing to preach when ur this close but it’s the difference between success and failure .

  16. Tsn is messing with Shaun's mind. He needs to drop the Toronto sports network if he wants to be a Habs fan… Sorry bud
