Bruins need to rebuild that center position. Good defense and goaltending though, could be a dark horse.
WhatChaos x THG collab
Boston has too many bad contracts to make the playoffs. Jeannot is a particularly terrible contract. It's so bad that I don't know how to judge it.
Boston fans versus Bruins management (Sweeney) —Two tribes go to war.
It’s ok not to make the playoffs for one year. Yes I am a bruins fan.
Going into a season, first time in forever Boston could be going downhill.
Sooner Bruins rebuild, better in the long run.
4:06 I burst out laughing in the restaurant
Don't worry Shannon, your references make you the best
Prayers for Yvonne still 🙏
Jeannot is gonna get more minutes than in Tampa and LA and is still young wouldn't be surprised if he bounces back.
I like pasta but if he wants a cup he needs to ditch the b’s. He’s never winning it with us. We sold our future in 2023 to be bounced in the first round.
Too bad the Bruins can’t trade Don Sweeney.
Maybe get a bag of pucks for him.
Boston has to be hungry like a wolf to make it to the playoffs
Just lost my pet Bunny who was only 6. I had no clue Green Onions were toxic to bunnies. Ik Shannon has his little fur babies and just need some support as “Cale” for Cale Makar was a special bunny who thought he was a dog. Anyone out there who has a bunny do more research in the vegetables u give them it’s a horrible feeling
Bruins are giving me 2010s Canucks vibes. As a Canucks fan, I wish Bruins fans well cause yall are gonna need it 😬
You could say he ever really got into the "sway" of things
No? Okay
Not bad. Now work in the Latvian, Locmelis, who had had 12 points in the 6 games he played after leaving BU and before excelling in the World Championships.
Shannon that jersey is beautiful! I’m hoping to eventually find one with McAvoy on it. Should have spent the money on it while I was at the game but oh well.
After getting knocked out by pesky Florida two years in a row, Sweeney brought in bigger players. Now we're a bit smaller but have much better skaters overall. Sway, Elias and Pasta were all elite in the World Championships. We can finish top-5 with classic B's 4 lines of grind.
Having a top 3 player in the nhl doesn’t help them getting the first overall pick. Pasta shouldn’t be traded, but would be fun to see it happening.
Oh, how the mighty have fallen (in the regular season). Got some prospects but now it's time to develop them and rebuild for the time being. 8th in the Atlantic with 73-78 points.
B's are retooling which could take 2-3 years. They have some good prospects from this last draft which should be ready by that time. For now, Sweeney has molded this year's team as a physical, defensive team to play against with additions like Eyssimont, Jeannot etc. Jeannot's contract isn't as big a deal as others say it is. He was signed to take the load of the altercations from Kastelic recovering from a concussion,. Also Jeannot will be expected to protect James Hagens when he is ready. With former Bruin player and now coach, Marco Sturm who will be perfect to lead and teach this years team into a good checking defensive, feisty team. And to boost their power play they have added coach Steve Spott. So this year's version of the Bruins may or may not make the playoffs but they will resemble the physicality, hard checking of the old Bruin teams from the past which I look forward to.
if they can keep it out of their own net, they could surprise but with sweeney at the bar for the next decade, it won't be pretty
Unless this team is going to go for McDavid, I'm not sure what the plan is at this point.
Outstanding Punmanship!
Normally I'd go with the opposite of whatever Boston predictions were made by Sportsnet and TSN analysts, so I'm still waiting on their wisdom, but maybe this season the Bruins don't rise to the top of the playoff bubble teams to get in when they're not supposed to. Vancouver really dodged a bullet when Zadorov and Lindholm signed huge contracts in Boston, despite the Canucks offering the same or more.
No Mas on Duran 😅😅
As a Blackhawks fan, this Boston team reminds me a lot of the Blackhawks back when they were still trying to keep things together with Toews, Kane, Keith. I agree that Boston should take a step back so that they can take more steps forward.
Zadorov's more trouble than he's worth.
I think firing Jim Montgomery was the correct decision looking back, he is not exactly a great head coach in my opinion and I think it was better to get rid of him back then vs the off-season. It’s probably one of the very few good decisions the bruins have made over the last three years
Boston is making the playoffs this year. Fuck McKenna.
Going into my 58th season as 🐻 fan! First time in a number of seasons with no high expectations, more like an IF season. IF… only IF ‘25-26. 🐻
4:10 What a notorious reference Shannon. Did you have to be serious? In this ordinary world?
It's purely a numbers game, and the numbers just aren't in Boston's favor for the playoffs this year. Their free-agency strategy very much confused me; if you're goals for are that bad, sing 5 4th liners isn't going to help that as much. Even if McAvoy and Lindholm are back fully healthy, they may help on the PP, but neither is gonna give you 50+ points (outside of that 2022/23 season, Lindholm's career high point total was over a decade ago at 34). Lindholm may help on the defensive side/PK by preventing some goals, but to think he is going to be a driver of the offense from the blueline is unrealistic. McAvoy can drive the offense a bit; but he jsut needs to stay healthy. He's been in the league for 8 years, and has only played more than 70 games in a season twice; with his average being around 60 games, which is only 10 more than he played this past season; so I'm not sure if we can count on a dramatic increase in his numbers either. I just honestly hope they don't like Don make a bunch of stupid trades at the deadline to try and save his job if they are out of contention. They need to trade a lot of the 4th liners they just signed and let the kids play if the season is slipping away. Make a line of Lysell, Minten, Blumel and let them play 10/15/20 games and see what happens. Their production certainly cannot/will not be worse than Beecher/Jeannot/Eyssimont
