About MLB.com:
Commissioner Allan H. (Bud) Selig announced on January 19, 2000, that the 30 Major League club owners voted unanimously to centralize all of Baseball’s internet operations into an independent technology company. Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM) was formed and charged with developing, building and managing the most comprehensive baseball experience available on the internet. In August 2002, MLB.com streamed the first-ever live, full length MLB game when the Texas Rangers and New York Yankees faced off at Yankee Stadium. Since that time, millions of baseball fans around the world have subscribed to MLB.TV, the live video streaming product that airs every game in HD to nearly 400 different devices. MLB.com also provides an array of mobile apps for fans to choose from, including At Bat, the highest-grossing iOS sports app of all-time. MLB.com features a stable of club beat reporters and award-winning national columnists, the largest contingent of baseball reporters under one roof, who deliver over 100 original articles every day. MLB.com also offers extensive historical information and footage, online ticket sales, official baseball merchandise, authenticated memorabilia and collectibles and fantasy games.

Major League Baseball consists of 30 teams split between the American and National Leagues. 1. Whats crazy is that I was at the game and pointed out this type of ritual he was doing where he would throw a heavy pinkish ball against the wall and catch it behind his back then would rinse and repeat. Then he did it in game…craaazzyyyy!

  2. Now bring up Sproat.. people seem to forget how many youngsters we had on that 86 team ( Gooden , Darling, Sid Fernandez , Bobby Ojeda and Rick Aguilera).. the oldest pitcher was Ojeda and he was 28. Sid/Darling were 25 and Doc was 21…

  3. Mcleans spin rate on his breaking ball is higher than any other pitch thrown by any other pitcher in the entire MLB.

Dude throws mid 90s so has plenty of velo, but can literally spin a baseball better than anyone in the world. He has hit spin rates of over 3500 RPM which no pitcher in the league has replicated or surpassed.

Take the above average velo and 2 distinct breaking balls with an absurd spin rate, and now add in an unflappable and locked in demeanor on the mound, and the possible upside here is incredibly tantalizing.

The Mets really may have something huge here, and with Sproat and Tong literally right behind him, much more to come

  4. A rookie pitcher making a PERFECT throw to 2nd to start a double play . Zero Fear dude made it look routine, a lotta times you see pitchers do that and throw it away . Props for all parts of this play!

  5. Umps helped him out with some calls that were way off the plate in critical situations (Randy Arozarena 2 batters before this), but yes the kid pitched great. He had the nastiest curve/slider I’ve seen in a long time in the very first at bat of the game.

  6. There’s something about this kid and it’s not cockiness it’s confidence and he presents himself like he’s been in the league for 10 years, I think he’s gonna be a star!

  7. My God we needed that pitching performance. Hopefully this man can right this ship and get us out of these icebergs we’ve been crashing into.
