“It’s A Brotherhood, We’re Family Here” | Alex Tuch After Buffalo Sabres Shootout Loss To Florida

a lot of push back from yourself and from the group as a whole tonight How’d you assess the game yeah I thought we uh we let up in a little bit in the second period but I thought we uh we had a good push back there in the third I thought we had a little bit of a sloppy five on three there but we got the job done which is good But I thought we played a good I thought we had a really good effort I thought we uh paid attention to the details Um I think our persistence was a little bit better towards the end of the second of the third period and um that was something I think that we wanted to uh be a little bit better at than we were in the first period I thought they had a couple too many easy outs and the breakouts and everything but then you see how our shot totals go up and that was because we were able to keep pucks in and stay over top of them and cause him to make turnovers Why’ you think it was important to step up for Kulie there with Gajik uh I mean I’ve h it’s a brotherhood here It’s a um we’re family here and if one guy gets taken out uh I know that there was four or five of us that given the opportunity would have went went pretty tough customer and um no one in here is labeled as a fighter but we’re we’re we’re ready and willing to step up as a team when needed to What did um no penalty on that play what was your reaction to that i mean not even interference I didn’t I I jumped on to talk to the ref I didn’t see the replay Um obviously it was a big hit I thought it was high in the initial but replay the rest looked at it I I got no comment other than that honestly I just they’re gonna have they they look at it Our coaches looked at it and everything and obviously we would have loved the power play there and um just collect Kulie was able to come back You guys were short-handed on D with Owen going down What I mean everybody stepped up but what did you think about Rasmus in particular playing 28 minutes and just overall yeah he was a beast honestly He was he was controlling the game tonight defensively offensively I mean two-point night Uh he showed tonight why he’s one of the best defensive in the world Penalty kill first period Uh Melstein takes a puck up towards the neck and as he’s going down he’s trying to block another shot What’s that say about him oh yeah he’s a warrior I mean uh the guy the guy will jump in front of any puck and uh it’s one of the reasons why we brought him over from Wash uh was his pen killing abilities his shot blocking abilities and he’s just so defensively responsible and he plays the game the right way full 60 minutes and he’s a great teammate to have Just some tough breaks in the second for the most part with the way that they scored their goals Yeah I think a little bit of a mis coverage there I think um bouncing puck came out I think on the rebounder hit someone in front and then popped right to them Obviously uh we would like that back I think early in the shift but uh like I said I thought we played pretty good defensively I didn’t think we gave them too many uh great a scoring opportunities They I think they just uh capitalized on the couple that we gave them Thank you
