  1. Lucas is a good player who gets a lot of empty net points and touch assists to bolster his numbers. Perhaps he can start to carry his line and his team, but he has yet to really do so, tho recent developments are promising. Basically the Yzerman regime is desperate for a PR win in the rebuild so they've done everything they can to pump his numbers up regardless of whether it worked for the team or made sense. Kasper is now also getting this treatment. Both are good players bolstered by Larkin and empty nets. Ray also benefits greatly from power play touch assists, where he has little to do w the scoring play but gets the point bc he's always right in the mix.

as an example of this – Ray has 7 empty net points this year through 50ish games. Kane had 6 empty net points in his first four seasons combined. Playing the full seasons, for good teams. He was a top draft pick but the team wasn't trying to win any PR battles by fudging his numbers w free points. They didn't have to.

I hope Ray continues to build and progress bc if you get him taking off for real and becoming a true line carrier and team carrier, and you get Kane back healthy and hot doing his 2nd line stuff w Cat, suddenly you are a team that is a bit dangerous in a playoff round. The team needs 2 true good 5v5 scoring lines, plus the power play to be clicking. And they can do some things.

  2. He has handed the same empty net goals to others and he is our top assist guy.. don't be such an obvious hater

  3. What??? Hes top 15 in scoring, thats elite, not to mention if you actually watch hockey he plays all three zones, carries the teams pp, 5v5, and even plays pk, yeah hes a superstar.

  4. He got past his sophomore slump and he is a star on many nights. I think he will be a superstar in a year or two.

  5. No, lol.. But if Chris stops being a tight ass and gives Yzerman the green light to add a superstar, it will take Raymond's game to another level.. Raymond is the ultimate team player..

  6. He is an absolute stud out there in the game ! Guy can shoot, pass, buries pucks on shootouts, breakaways, 2 in 1's crisp hands dude us always going to be dangerous and will just keep getting better in my opinion..

  7. If not heโ€™s pretty close to it . I think a superstar should have 40 goals min. His personality holds him back a bit cause heโ€™s introverted and quite with no commercials all of that matters

  8. He's a star. He's not a superstar. That's okay. Lots of Stanley cup teams withiut a superstar. Some superstars without Stanley Cups too. McDavid and Matthews come to mind.

  9. We going to ignore the 21 year old Kasper with the through the legs pass to Raymond? Could our youth finally be showing up and showing out?
