Hmm he's old now but I'd love to see what happens when you put some younger Ovi stats on their especially 5:57 with hits vs points). At a similar age he had a 3 season run win 848 hits and 331 points. That said for sure Tkachuk is of a bread that only a handful of exist in the league.
The intrisic problem witht this viewpoint is also what makes Tkachuk a difficult player to assess. That penalty minutees are virtuous. Some players are twats because they have to be, Tkachuk is a twat because he is one. The question is would he be a better player without being a twat,
