Today Stauffer hinted at Oilers running 3 goalies said Oilers will add at least 1 goalie between now and the trade deadline
again mentioned Oilers will move a forward out so they can accrue cap for the trade deadline
Plan 1- use the cap for a top 9 forward with size
Plan 2 – if things go bad they will use the cap for a Goalie
I'd give up a 1st for Cossa no problem.
Daws could be a good one.
Remember this is a contract year for skinner so he might get his jiggy back under this new coach!
If anyone expects the oilers to acquire a starting goalie in the near future I think they should dampen expectations. There is no team in the league that is willing to give away their starting goalie before the season starts. This might change by December (ex. Blackwood trade) if the conditions are perfect. You also need to take these things into account when trading
– cap hit and length of contract•Both teams overall cap picture (Present, Next year, 2years, etc.)
– Both teams draft capital
– Both teams Needs (NHL rosters)
– Both teams depth chart (Prospects, Players pushing for an NHL roster spot)
