   Unless McKenna gets a brutal injury that keeps him out for 3-5 years I think McKenna goes 1st but Verheoff goes 2nd

   SJS may trade out if they have #1 to #2 to Verhoff. Of all the teams in the league, Sharks need McKenna the least, we need a true #1 Dman

    If my Sharks get the #1 pick, they’re 100% taking Verhoeff. They might not even trade down to #2, just to not even chance missing out on Verhoeff. That’s how important he is to our rebuild.

    And on that point, if we don’t get Verhoeff this draft, we could very possibly end up like the Leafs, or Oilers.. all offense no defense, and thus no future cup for us.
    But, if we do get Verhoeff, the Sharks could pull a SF Giants move and win 3 cups in 5 years.
    That’s how pivotal getting Verhoeff is for the Sharks this upcoming draft.

    Verhoeff is awesome, but North Dakota might not be good enough to help his case. IMO he’s more likely to fall behind Stenberg than overtake McKenna. But on the other hand, McKenna might just be the best possible version of a Mitch Marner as a rush winger type, and Verhoeff has swag like Schaefer.

    No hate for Verhoeff whatsoever as he'd absolutely be #1 in many other drafts. But the media do this basically every draft where it's clear cut who's #1, that they start hyping up the #2 guy to make it sound closer than it is, and like it's not a slam dunk. Don't fall for this yearly trick.

    BEST of has to be separated int ocategories best shot best skater best passer best goal scorer best two way best defender etc etc .McKenna's stock might slip a bit joining the US system becuase he won't put up the 100+ numbers he would get in the Canadian system playing more games.

    No defensemen will ever be valued over a forward, the only people who think defensemen should go ahead of a forward are scouts from the 90s that are no longer employed. It is comically easier to play defense then offense , it's why you can see multiple forwards shift back on d for pp but never will see a defensemen play below the red line on the pp . Not gunna argue in comments played in college have friends currently in the show and this is something known universally at the highest levels
