  1. Saku Koivu, imagine not resigning him for 4.5 or 5 mil but yet trading away mcdonagh for gomez and his 7.5mil to replace him.

  2. Great debate, i would have radulov first then Deneault , then Markov third based solely on performance, since markov did play you could say koviou, but he didn’t light it up with anhiem, were radulov and Deneault had great yrs

  3. Man, I liked Radulov but his time as a Hab is way over hyped. He had a decent season, asked for too much money and left when he didn't get it.

  4. Technically another trade, but since the option was to re-sign or trade, I'm going to count it (it's also possible that I'm misremembering the whole thing..).
Mike Ribeiro. Just as he was entering the prime of his career we shipped him off to Dallas. Then spent the next 20 years searching for a center…. That one always stuck with me.

  5. Markov- There was no reason to let him go based on what Alzner got.
Koivu – Mad disrespect to the captain of the team and imagine that habs team moving forward WITH Koivu and Mcdonaugh
Radulov – It was 500k that made the difference. Bergevin picked very weird hills to die on.

  6. How about pretty recently…Corey Perry. Dude was a dawg for us in the playoffs, and helped mentor the kids at the time (Suzuki, and Caufield). He's always been a baller and played hard every night.

  7. #1 Markov
    #2 Radulov
#3 Monahan (free agent after the trade)
#4 Toffoli (free agent same time as Money)
    #5 Thomas Vanek

    Honorable mention : Danault

  8. Aleksei Vyacheslavovich Kovalyov. I met him right after he signed with Ottawa has a free agent. He was dressed like we were still in the 80's. Lovable guy. When I asked him why he signed with Ottawa he said with a smile : I got *ucked! In short he said he had given permission to his agent to say yes if he had a better deal but the deal he got in Ottawa was barely better than the one in Montreal. He thought his agent would say no but he said yes. Once Kovy was made aware of the deal he wanted to go back to Montreal but Gainey had pulled the plug. From the horse's mouth. I still miss him.
