I can't see the Canadiens doing anything until we find out if Dach can play 2C. Unless the deal is unbelievably one sided, why tinker with the lineup until we know the 2C situation?

To the question, "Why haven’t there been any moves now that we’re in mid-August?" the answer is simple: following their earlier trades (Dobson, Bolduc, etc.), the Canadiens’ only significant need is a second-line center and right now, that kind of player is either unavailable or too expensive. It's hard to imagine the Habs parting with someone like Reinbacher, and potentially more, just to acquire a player like McTavish.
What Montreal needs badly, it is a genuine scoring 2C, but there are none available. Furthermore, which good enough player/prospect that Montreal could let go to bring back in return such a good 2C ???
