Reinbacher is one of the players I could see enticing Verbeek to trade McTavish, but his knee injury and lack of any NHL experience so far does bring his value down from where it was not long ago. It wouldn't be a one for one swap, that's for sure. Next years first from the Canadians would have to be part of the deal at least… For me anyway. Verbeek will probably take the worst contract off of the Canadians hands for McTavish straight up and call it a day.
I've been waiting for a good trade but it'll never ever happen here in detroit. He's said more then enough to let people know he loves his picks and the young guys he has in the minors. He enjoys molding players and not trading for the really good players we need. I would welcome a really good trade. Need to give up value to get value.

No way Yzerman does that trade. He will only trade futures for 'young' talent. Yzerman doesn't want Danielson blossoming in Pittsburgh, not with the proposed return.

Interesting trade speculation–Detroit needs to make a dramatic move to correct the recent bad choices in players.
People complaining about the arena moving to Lebreton are pretty selfish if you ask me. In terms of a location that maximizes the ability for as many people as possible in the market to get to games, and to funnel 18,000 people in and out of the area as painlessly as possible, you couldn't possibly ask for a better location. You've got trains leaving in 3 different directions. It's right at the gateway to Gatineau. It's kinda the perfect distance from the highway to split traffic between several exits without creating a huge bottleneck at 1 or 2 exits. Not to mention a lot more people live close by and could walk or bike. It's nestled between all the fun neighborhoods in the region so people can go our before and after the game, which will be a much better vibe than sitting in your care for 45 minutes. They got no real good arguments against it besides it being less convenient for them personally. The LRT works great these days, and will only get better as the extensions are completed. And if you really want to drive it will still be better than getting out of Kanata, if only by virtue of the amount of folks who won't have to drive, or at least can park at a park n ride on and take the train the rest of the way. Them not being able to fathom that not everybody needs to drive from their door to absolutely everywhere they go is a poor reason to maintain the terrible vibes you get when your arena is surrounded by a sea of parking and nothing else around.

Mason is a guy that very likely never hits a ppg and his value is a 1st and good prospect, like from Vancouver, Lekkerimakki or Mancini.
You're right about Detroit, a trade like that doesn't make sense. Many Red Wings fans think that the roster is full of young talent and Yzerman needs to start trading away picks and prospects. But the reality is that Detroit had the second oldest team in the league last season and they will be an old team next season as well. Detroit needs more young players, not trade them away.

Reinbacher has already had 2 reconstructive surgeries and is currently rehabbing a 3rd knee injury how can you deliberately lie about Reinbacher. Are you being paid by Montreal? You keep pushing him as a valued trade chip he is not healthy he may never play . Like you say, mate, wherever the Senators put the new arena, you're going to make people unhappy. Sadly, many families who are fans might have moved closer to Kanata for the sake of the Sens and to have season tickets. But the Senators need the downtown arena so bad and it's going to be a fantastic opportunity for them to build the franchise and attract better players to the team whilst also benefiting Ottawa as a concert venue in the heart of the city.

Anaheim wants to make the playoffs.Ottawa has Shane Pinto,he is looking for an extention.They also have Max Guenette,a young right shot d man with size,and Ridley Greig as well.Pinto is a second line center that Ottawa has been playing as a third liner.
Anaheim is in a position that if you want MacTavish you are going to have to overpay by about 25 percent.

No. We have Hage who is a year away. I'd be in board with trading a b tiered prospect and a 1st to fill a hole later on in the year. I believe Reinbacher is going to be a special player. MacT would be a good get, but too expensive in cap and capital.
