Go to 24 to 26 mins on JR End of season press conference it’s on YouTube. JR gave the Yzermen and Crosby example. That is why JR doesn't think Petey is a complete player because of those two examples. Nothing about bad defensively.
You said Petey has been struggling since 2023/2024 All star game, I am saying in the start of 2024/2025, Petey had 26 P in his first 27 games. If you go 1/3 of the season with about ppg, You can't say he's been struggling since the 2023/2024 all star game, what you're saying is incorrect.

Miller is not way better offensively than Petey.
Petey 457 P in 471 games, Miller 437 P in 404 games with the Canucks.
There even strength points per a game is pretty much the same. Petey 293 P/471 games = 0.622 ppg and Miller 256 P/404 games = 0.633 ppg.
Even strength they are equal, the difference in points is because Miller play the left half wall on the pp so he gets a lot more puck touches. Petey play the one time position on the right side, way less puck touches.

The question I have is if EP40 is using an injury as an excuse for his poor play, then why did he go to the 4 Nations or more to the point why did the team allow him to?
Got your years mixed up Trev. Miller had his 99 point year the year before Pettersson broke out with his 102. The 102 point year was Miller's down year with 81 or 82 points when the fans started to get on him for his attitude.

You will see a lot of stats confirmed that Petey is good defensively. Not much stat confirmed Miller is good defensively. Please don't try to link Petey being as bad as defensively like Miller. I know that was your main agenda yesterday.

You're using 11.6 M to determined his 45 P season was bad. No argument there, I agree it was a bad season.
To make it fair, you need to look at his two previous contracts to determine if other seasons were good as well which you didn't do, you said Petey had 3 good seasons. Not true.
Entry level contract, 66 P/71 games and 66 P in 68 games. Making peanuts and getting almost two ppg seasons is really good no matter how you slice and dice it.
Next contract for 3 years at 7.35 M a season. 102 and 89 points making 7.35 is a steal, you can also say that salary a 68 points season is good as well. 60 plus points is the going rate for at least 7 plus million. Boeser only had one season over 68 P, he gets 7.1 M a season.
That is 5 good season and not 3. This is a reason why people call you a Petey hater. Your assessment is just so disingenuous. You can't use salary for one season he had last year and not for other years.
