Isn't Florida just a very good/complete team, simply put?
Feels like the goalkeeper discussion has gone off the rails. There are similarities between Toronto and Edmonton, front-heavy teams, on the verge of upsetting Florida without a high-class goaltending game. Maybe you just need a better balanced team (like Panthers), instead of thinking you can win with one good offensive line against a complete team like Panthers
Feels like ppl just want to find a scapegoat because McDavid won't win a cup with the oilers. I mean, just look at hellebuyck's playoff performance. If the answer was that simple (i.e. that Edmonton would succeed with a better goaltender) a guy like hellebuyck would have been decisive for Winnipeg made a better Stanley Cup run
After all, Edmonton has made it to the finals for the second year in a row with this goaltending performance. Can't really be that useless…
Skinner bugs me most when the position mistakes become a liability and increase difficulty for his defenseman. Too many times I have seen that from him, and Edmontons biggest mistake was not strengthening that position during the trade deadline.
If everyone is so down on the oilers goaltending,then is it not a huge factor that was not addressed,last off season,or before the trade deadline?

Stuart Skinner is a great backup goalie. The Oilers will always be runners-up until they get that and find someone reliable.

NO GOALIE would play for them and do well. they would lose passion love and dedication for the game with the shit show thats in front of them and the abuse the fans give constantly.

Yes, Skinner gave up a few bad goals, but Edmonton's defense was horrible. Skinner was a big reason Edmonton made it to the finals, but where were the defense and forwards in the cup final. AND, lets not forget Florida is a well coached team with a great goaltender, tight defense and four equally dangerous forward lines with a never give up attitude!!!
He’s a good 1B in no world is he a starter bowman had his opportunity last summer to pick up Swayman it would have eaten there cap for the season but if they wanted to go all in on a cup or bust push they needed to do it
