Joe Veleno will be a STEAL for the Montreal Canadiens
I created this video to show that Joe Veleno surprised me a lot at the habs summer practices and I think he’s going to do way better for the Habs than people are expecting. He’s for sure got the skill and speed to play in a top six role if the Habs need him to. And with Kirby Dach still recovering from his injury, the habs should give Veleno an opportunity as the second line centre to see what he could do.

Yes for sure. It's going to be great.
My favourite time of the day a nice ol maietta post love the vids!
I have the same feeling
Yes, it seems that Veleno has better skills and reflexes than what I had imagined. Even his mobility and anticipation look good… hmmm🤔 Could it be that Veleno's true potentiel has not yet been uncovered?
He is very skilled, and so much so, that sometimes i was mixing him up with Demidov. Martin St-Louis could be the spark he needs to kickstart his career
Your nuts here's a guy who can't put up 30 points in a season and he's a steal. Rubbish, just stopping a good young player from being promoted.
We might be looking at our 3c. If so, the Canadiens might have one of the best bottom 6 in the league this coming season!
Newhook – Veleno – Bolduc
Anderson – Evans – Gallagher
that's sick, young third line, but sick if they catch some ceiling :')
only issue is if thats a line during the season the defense will be very bad with those 3
All of these clips look great and are promising, But this is also with significantly less defensive pressure, Also a much slower pace.
My problem with Veleno is his IQ. His ability to do these plays at a high pace with NHL level defensive pressure on him. It’s not because he hasn’t been given top 6 minutes. That’s the main reason why Veleno has not yet shown a level of potential even worthy of getting into a top 6.
I’m not saying he can’t, But I’m saying people need to chill, His IQ at a high level has always been an issue, And it has led to a player who can make a great play here and there but is a bottom 6 player, MUCH like Dvorak.
Maybe I’m wrong, And he does explode or even has a career year, But personally I just can’t see it in a top 6 role. I could see him having a good year tho in the bottom 6.
He certainly had a fall from grace in Detroit and was getting his game back in Chicago. Thing is, a players' situation can make a huge difference, look at Strom in Washington or Forsling in Florida? It's right to be wary of a guy who's not lived up to expectations, but for 900,000 he's not a big risk. The Laval guys aren't ready, Beck, Reinbacher, Flo, etc need another year, maybe Kapenan could make it, but Veleno could always play in Laval.
It's just practice, Veleno isn't suddenly going to become a good NHL player.
Maybe they will try that combination in the pre season games.
I think he’ll end up in Laval. There’s no reason to think otherwise.,scrimmages doesn’t mean much. We know he has talent but be can’t show it in real games. As for Dach he’s 100% and in great shape
