  1. I cant see Anaheim giving up McTavish for reinbacher alone, they'd be stupid if they did. If Anaheim was currently shopping him, we might get him a bit cheaper, but they arent even looking to trade him, so it's gonna take a lot to get him. We would probably have to over pay to get him. I cant see this trade happening, as awesome as it would be. With Dach not being ready to start the season, we need a #2 center desperately,(even if he is ready to start the season, we still need a 2nd line center), and teams know this, so they are going to try to take us to the cleaners! Hopefully Hughes and Gorton dont over pay, but hopefully they get a decent second line center, and soon.

  2. Perfect fit, without a doubt, realistic acquisition absolutely not, I don’t see the Habs trading the players that it would probably take to make the trade happen. Creating a hole to fill a hole makes no sense

  3. not giving him nothing. we dont need to rush developpment. young team with one of the youngest core in the league who wont hit their prime until maybe in 2-3 years. we have time, something most teams dont have. jsut wait, we'll have the pieces in 2 years. rushing to take an established player on a team thats not ready for playoffs is just a bad choice. especially if we trade one of our young guys for him. not worth it at all

  4. I love #23 but don't think it's worth the ask. If you're signing Matheson to an extension then maybe Reinbacher becomes expendable. I'd say try and get #23 for #8, Beck/Kapanen and a pick. But doubt Ducks would want that either. Can't wait for the season Go Habs Go 🍻

  5. You guys are delusional. Here’s the rumours I’ve been hearing from reliable sources (im delusional as well and the sources are me) if dach plays well. We trade dach lj mooney and Roy to Pittsburgh for Crosby after the Olympic break.

  6. Personally, I would offer sheet him at 9.1mil and see if anaheim matches . If they do, well you tried. The pieces they are asking back in a trade are too high.
I honestly don't know if anaheim are ready to match McTavish that high. They have alot of young pieces needing to get signed in the next few years, including cutter Gauthier.. I am sure verbeek wants to sign him under 7.5mil aav.. they are deep down the middle..A 1st ,2nd and 3rd are definitely worth the shot..

  7. It starts with Matheson(yes) OR Reinbacher(no) and the what ever it takes: Dach-Newhook-Arber-Florian-Struble. Take a pick but a big no for Evans, Fowler and the top 6

  8. I really like McTavish but Hage looks like he's going to turn into a good player and can't wait to play in a Habs uniform. The Habs are already a young team. They don't have a 2-3 year window before everyone gets too old. On the contrary, they have been patient looking to build the team one piece at a time and have plenty of time to keep improving this team organically. If Anaheim wants a a buck for a buck, I say wait. If they want a buck for 4 quarters, those quarters being Engstrom, Roy and 2 draft picks then fine but I don't think they want quarters; they would probably want a full dollar and I'm not ok with that.

More importantly, Hughes has done miracles so far getting talent in Montreal through trades and if THE CANADIENS believe McTavish is a missing cog to a Stanley Cup contender, they will find a way to get him on the team if he truly is available. I trust this administration more than ever.

  9. Imo Beniers is actually a better fit if we’re also considering circumstances/realism. Already signed long-term, great defensively, and more likely to be available for a reasonable price with Seattle’s terrible roster construction.

McTavish probably has the higher offensive ceiling but I don’t think it’s fair to judge Beniers’ production with how Seattle plays and how little talent there is around him

  10. As much as I’d love to see McTavish in a Habs jersey, I just don’t see this happening. Anaheim won’t let this kid go for peanuts and the price would be pretty hefty like probably a Slafkovsky or a Guhle. At best, the Habs would gain an important piece and lose another. The way I see it, it would be taking money out of your right pocket to put it in your left and maybe dropping some change à la Romanov-Dach trade.

  11. I would trade Slaf one for one for Mctavish. We have option at RW to replace Slaf. Demidov and Dach are both top 6 RWers. Let’s get it done!

  12. As a Ducks fan I appreciate this your good honest take on McTavish being traded. There's lots of talk on other channels about how good Mason is, and he is, and why teams want him but you never hear what's in it for the Ducks and actual potential trade names that would go to the Ducks. It makes no sense for the Ducks to trade McTavish. The fans like him, he is a big part of their rebuild. Why would they sabotage that? As you mentioned they have a ton of cap space so it really is a no brainer for the Ducks to keep him. This is a slow time of the year for hockey rumors and I think because he is the last unsigned RFA at this particular moment for the Ducks, he is an easy rumor target. But who knows, maybe he will be traded…I guess we have to wait and see. Pat Verbeeks ass will be on the line if he blows this or makes a bad deal.

  13. With no Zegras, they now need McTavish. He is the real deal behind Leo C. Their #1c. Canadiens need to be patient and not give up their young D or Slav or Hage. For McTavish, they have lots of forward talent in Laval projected as bottom 6…move some of them and Laine.
