  1. yes it was easier to score in the 80s ,but gretzky was the only one with 92, and 894 is much harder when u r a playmaker passer ,894 much harder to achieve with 1963 assists ,if gretzky focused on goals the record is pro 1200.

  2. All I know is that 99 is the GOAT … BUT if there was a loose puck in the corner and Ovi and Wayne went after it … Ovi is getting the puck, and Wayne is getting concussed.
    Advantage: Ovi šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

  3. Alex is a good teammate who thanked his teammates for helping him achieve the record. He is a sniper. Pure goal scorer. Great hockey player.

  4. Gretzky also had guys like Messier, Kurri, Tikkanen, Coffey, etc as teammates. Just to name a few. That will help you score as often as Gretzky did

  5. An interesting stat on how easy it was to score goals in Gretzky's time? Over Gretzky 21 year career there were 132 50 goal scorers and Gretzky was 9 of those. Gretzky didn't break 50 in the 90s. Over Ovechkin's 19 year career there were 36 and Ovechkin was 9 of those.

  6. The most old hating’est ignorant thinking. Every way to discredit this guy you can. Ovi is the greatest goal scorer of all time and one of the most physically dominant hitters of all time. Ovechkin would put Gretzky in the grave if he had the puck.

  7. Very underrated passer and 3rd all time in hits. His legacy is greatest goal scorer and greatest Winger of all time. Gretzky has 950 more points than anyone else which is beyond ridiculous. People who think Orr or Lemieux are better than him are blind homers

  8. I grew up in Edmonton, watching the Oilers and Wayne Gretzky during the glory days. My god, HE IS truly THE GREAT ONE.

  9. To me Howe and Orr will always be greatest because they literally did everything. Gretzky was offense and needed protection. And Ovi is a goal sniper.

  10. hes never tried to be compared to him. When it comes to goal scoring record, hes #1. Hacks like this want to make the comparison to make up for the fact they could never be that successful, Ovi or Gretzky has never asked for comparison

  11. I push back and say you can put them in the same breath. It is apples to oranges though. Center and forward. With Gretzky though, he put up those gaudy goal numbers but still was caught by Ovechkin. If you want to discuss playmaking ability, then of course Gretzky. Anything regarding goal scoring is automatically same breath.

  12. Completely different eras. Two different positions on the ice. Center versus winger. They didn't play structured defense in the NHL in the late-1970's and 1980's and the goalies back then were smaller guys often rooted in place. Ovechkin played his entire career after the defensive reformation of the 1990's and every night he faced big, quick, athletic goalies far superior to those in Gretzky's day. They're not comparable in the same sense that you wouldn't compare LeBron with Wilt or Aaron Judge with Johnny Bench.

  13. Guy scored the most goals of all time and Felger and say one positive thing about him, just trashes him the whole time. Nothing has changed about Boston sports radio it seems. This just happened to appear on my recommend videos.

  14. Ovechkin doesnt even look like a good player when you compare their stats…..and Gretzky got the the goal mark on fewer games technically

  15. How is it harder to score now? When we have more 3 goal per games averages than any yime since the 90s.

  16. To be on par with Wayne it will take one player to collect the three most important records – points, goals, assists.

  17. Why do people keep doing this? Oh, clicks šŸ˜‚
Ovi even says Gretzky is the greatest hockey player. That won’t change.
He’s just not the greatest goal scorer anymore. That’s Ovi.
