  1. Hey Professor,
I would say my feelings are hurt but, they are both already hurt so I guess I am good. hehe I didn't even get an honorable mention??? hahaha

I am very excited just like you because of the ridiculous wealth of riches we now enjoy in our prospects pool and we are about to add more this year and next which promises to be a stronger draft pool. It's an excellent problem to have so many good looking and promising prospects.

I am extremely excited to see the moves that will occur in the next few weeks when the draft happens and free agency begins. We just have a lot of options right now for Mike Grier and his team to consider which just adds to the excitement.

Thanks for another fun video to geek out on man. I hope you and your family are well Professor.

  2. Where does Chernvshov play on the current roster? 2nd line?

Also who on this list besides Graf can play on the PK?

Great video PF, future is indeed Teal!

  3. Thanks Prof, I've been waiting for YOUR list and you didn't disappoint.Very insightful analysis on you choice of 1 and 2, it made a lot of sense. Oh, and congratulations on the spot with Brodie. Again! …I think he had you back on because "Class is now in session" cracks him up and you didn't get to do it the first time…

  4. Musty=Busty…. he's got a questionable attitude, other wise I like the order. Misa and Cherny are going to make a a heckuva second line pairing.

  5. I'm so excited for next season to start… can't wait to see at least some of them in action, along with a generally much better team than at the start of 24-25.

  6. Hey Professor, great takes. I personally think a goalie is more important than a stud defenseman. We’ll see who wins the cup this year, Bob might be the difference.

  7. The only one I would call out would be Havelid. I think he grew a lot this last season.

  8. I don’t have the hockey IQ you do but I honestly thought cagnoni was really good during his games. Some mistakes sure but they weren’t so horrific it made me cringe. I think he did more good than he did bad and 2 points in 6 games isn’t the worst thing in the world for the small sample size we got. I’m quite excited for his future

  9. Bystedt is the only one I would switch out with Lund feel like he’s had plenty of time and hasn’t shown any signs of growth

  10. Pohlkamp had a much better offensive game before going to Denver. There he was ask to take on a different roll then he’d played prior. This year you’ll see what Pohlkamp can really do. He’s more then a middle pair I think everyone will be happily surprised

  11. JD only put Chernyshov above Musty because of higher floor, but you pointing out that he's got more professional experience against more experienced competition absolutely makes sense. Dickinson looking like a potential steal at 11, long way to go obviously but signs are there

  12. I have Chernyshov as the top forward also. Until Misa gets picked. I could see a Celebrini Misa Chernyshov line mid season. Chernyshov just needs to learn the language he’s ready for the show

  13. Would you bring in Berns for a last season give him a one year deal he could help the kids especially Dickinson like a player coach then he could retire a Shark

  14. Sharks fans are getting a bit too spoiled/optimistic about 19 & 20 years olds being NHL ready. Macklin and Smith are unusual. William Eklund is really talented, but was not a good NHL player until this season — at age 22.

I'm buying the Burns comparison with Dickinson. One a single shift at Memorial Cup, he got beat twice (!!) by Desnoyers who got to the front of the net both times. And then in the spot you might find a RW in the d-zone, he collects the puck and flies down the ice with it, under pressure, makes a fantastic backhand feed for the assist that put the Knights ahead. All on the same shift !! Two horrible defensive plays followed by an amazing offensive play. In maybe 30 seconds of ice time.

  15. Good list… good reasons so no real arguments. It’s interesting to contrast Graf with his high floor and lower ceiling vs Cagnoni and Haltunnen who are basically the opposite and have a fairly extreme boom or bust. Sharks fans need to remember that Cagnoni is only 20. Mukhamadullin didn’t put it together until he turned 23, which is normal for defense. Cagnoni will get repeated chances because the Sharks need a puck-moving D so bad, but it’s ok if it still takes time and multiple years and call-ups.

Dickinson’s dominance this season definitely takes a bit of pressure off of Grier to try to get Schaefer at the draft. I think there’s some gamesmanship coming from the Isles, and there’s a very good chance they’re going to take Misa at number one. But they’d love to squeeze Grier into moving up for a huge ransom. I hope Grier calls their bluff and forces the Isles to just make the pick. Moving up next year might be better.

  16. Great insight! I remember when Ryan Merkley was the top prospect for the sharks. They have come a long way

  17. Great update Professor!

Halttunen is a lot of fun, but honestly I hope GMMG leverages his CRAZY good postseason into him being a piece in a trade. His NHL game is capped, but maybe another team sees something to work with and would value him in a trade package (NOT a central piece, but a young upside play).

  18. 1. Askarov
    2. Dickinson
    3. Chernyshov
    4. Graf
    5. Mukhamadullin
    6. Musty
    7. Leo Sahlin Wallenius
    8. Bystedt
    9. Halttunen
    10. Cardwell

  19. I would kick Gushchin off the honorable mention. The Sharks are still really high on Brandon Svoboda, all he does is win everywhere he goes. His ceiling isnt really high but his floor is. Leo Shalin Wallenius should also be added to the HM list. Its wild that there will be another top 5 prospect added in a couple of weeks.

  20. What a gamer move for GMMG to trade up to #11 days before the 2024 draft. Only cost a mid 2nd. They didn’t think Dickenson would fall to them. Likely it would have been Yakumchuk

  21. Question Professor: So Stars fired former Sharks Coach Pete Deboer. What are your thoughts on it? I feel a bit split on it because the dude has been so successful with them in the time he has coached there. I know many felt that his goaltending decision in game 6 vs the oilers was bad, but even the espn commentators said he had to do something to wake up the defense given they were all playing awful in that game. I am wondering what you think since I feel the Stars might be making a mistake similar to the Sharks when they fired him, with the belief that Deboer was a "choker" or "fraud" in the playoffs, and when the Sharks fired him it only forced them into the current rebuild. Do you think the Stars firing Deboer was a good decision by the team or was it a bad mistake like SJ made?

  22. Thank you professor for yet another amazing video! Do you think anyone moves up for #2 I heard Chicago wants to move up to 2?

  23. London was a very deep team, so Halttunen was kind of buried yet still put up good numbers. What seals the deal for me was his OHL award. Dude can score which is what los tiburones need badly
