28-Year-Old NHL Rookie: Justin Danforth’s INCREDIBLE 10-Year Journey to the Show, EP 237

This is an in-depth interview with NHL forward Justin Danforth on Joe Tilley’s Great Canadian Sports Show. The interview covers Danforth’s remarkable journey from Oshawa to the NHL – a 10-year odyssey that took him through junior hockey in Cobourg, four years at Sacred Heart University, professional leagues across multiple continents (ECHL, AHL, Finnish Elite League, KHL), and ultimately to his NHL breakthrough with Columbus at age 28.
Key highlights include his Team Canada World Championship gold medal in 2021, memorable NHL goals including a game-winner at the Stadium Series in front of 94,000 fans, and his recent signing with Buffalo. The interview also touches on personal losses, including teammate Johnny Gaudreau and his cousin Tyler, and Danforth’s involvement in youth mentorship programs.
