Watched the game on RTE1 and twenty minutes from the end I couldn't bear it anymore so switched over to RTE 2 to watch the England v Spain women's soccer final. It was a choice between awful and awful. The GAA powers that be really need to do something to change the game. It should be called Gaelic Punchball the way things have gone. The sight of inter county players unable to kick a point from twenty metres was terrible. The hand pass should be abolished. The other facet of the game that should be changed is the tackle. A new rule that would place the onus on the player in possession to get rid of the ball should be introduced. If he is tackled and doesn't release, then it's a free against him. A great game has been ruined.
That first two pointer free. Did D Clifford trip himself? !Turnovers for Kerry resulted in two pointer whereas Don were happy with 1 pt. They should av went for goal on one of those turnovers.
The New rules are great but the format leading up to the final needs looking at .. Half the teams are all carrying injuries into matches . Too many games and little breaks in between !!
The over carrying should be 6 steps and then it wouldn’t really matter as that rule can let the referee dictate who’s going to win .. and if a tackle is deemed over zealous or not !! 50/50 calls all the time !!
And the game shouldn’t come to a standstill every time Hawkeye comes into play !! The kick outs should be taking in the same area regardless of a wide or a score !! Don’t get that !!
But all in all they’re doing okay a few tweaks here and there !! Scrap the square ball ( use a round one ) 😂😂
Take a guess at how many ‘general’ kicks of the football (i.e. not including kick-outs, free kicks, kicks at goal, or kicking the ball out of play when the hooter sounds) that there were in that 18-minutes highlights package. Answer: just 8. The FRC have done a great job with the new rules and the game is now much more enjoyable to watch and play, but we need much more kicking. A limit needs to be placed on the use of the handpass. Give this a thumbs-up if you agree – interesting to see if people think similarly.

Found it hard to believe that Kerry TV showed the game and not RTE, as a neutral viewer I totally disagree with a former Kerry footballer and manager being part of the commentary team, analysing ever Donegal tackle and free from a Kerry perspective, there were many neutral former football greats who should have been there instead. Having said all that, Kerry were outstanding and a joy to watch. Donegal management were so naive in allowing Paudie Clifford the freedom of Croke Park,it was unbelievable. Kerry
New rules have destroyed the once beautiful game, only 1 tight from the quater final stage on wards football is well and truly finished onless it goes back to the old rules, the rules were changed as they weren't happy with ulster football dominating
New rules are an absolute joke bringing shame within every man, woman and child involved in any sort of Gaa. One or two close games all year and peopl just love the taste of David Clifford’s sharts especially lee Keegan and his brown tongue

I used to love footbal in the 60s. Down, Galway, Kerry, Dublin., Meath and Offaly played great football. Too much handpassing now, can't watch it.

As an American, I love seeing the inter county competition with such support. Don't let Ireland or the Irish way of life be shoved aside.

That was a battering. As the Americans say, Donegal did not match Kerry's intensity and the game was as good as over after 15 minutes.
Donegal never turned up. Terrible tactics against a Kerry that meant business.
