The Sabres have made it clear that A. They like Norris and B. They aren't interested in Rossi. They weren't linked to Rossi, Minnesota offered Rossi for Peterka and the Sabres said no. The Sabres don't want more small forwards
It does't matter which way you look at it if Ottawa wants MacTavish or McCaan they will have to be willing to move Shane Pinto.Seattle won't let Jared McCaan unless Ottawa is willing to do that.
This is a mock trade,Shane Pinto,David Perron,a prospect and a pick.The same package with one more prospect thrown in for MacTavish.
I feel Knies , Miccelli, will have a great year and if the Leafs can get rid of Kampf , Robertson for picks or future considerations, then go for a player during the reg season.
Jason Robertson @ ~15 goals and his size and defensive limitations for Rakell and a mid-round pick! 🤣🤣🤣 It starts with a first or a top 3 prospect + more. Russ is not fetching 2027 and 2028 picks. Dubas still wants to win with Crosby in place. They have nothing. Maybe Howard, 2027 #1, and another prospect.
Scoring the goal is the hard part and what's lost when a player leaves. They've surpassed what Marner brings. They ain't trading Cowan or Danford. There the type of players there trying to aquire and are now at the dance. There other options to make a deal and there trading for Crosby.
Buffalo have already turned down Rossi in a potential trade for Peterka.

You’re way off on Rakell. It would start with Cowan. Plus Toronto has to clear cap space. Cowan, Robertson, Kempf to make the dollars work.
Sabres fan here. What about Bo Bryam for McTavish?
Anaheim has plenty of D, but I believe I heard that they’re concerned that none of them are 1st pair caliber (maybe Lacombe as a 1b).
Sabres have traded away several of their top forwards (for middling returns) and could use a promising young center like McTavish.
Byrum won't be in Vancouver unless Quinn asks for a trade and Canucks don't have much cap space left.

Its interesting that teams are looking to do Canadian teams a solid. Prices contract for funzies. Rakell for a guy they cant give away and maaaaybe a mid pick.
Nemec to the Pens during the season for Novak and Silovs. Novak provides center and top 6 help and Silovs would help to solidify goal tending.

Dallas better NOT make a deal for Karlsson. He's outrageously terrible defensively. It would instantly make Dallas worse. And trading him for Robertson & pieces? No way…
It will never happen, but Vancouver should get ahead of it & trade Quinn Hughes & start the rebuild.

Rasmus will in Dallas hopefully sooner. than later (50% retained) VGK don't have the assets to send back. The trade discussed that makes the most sense is Robertson going the other way. Both teams fill holes & needs and reduce redundancy (Miko Rantaanan AND Robertson too expensive) and the Flames have to fit in Zayne he cant go back to Jr..This wont be 1 for 1, look for it to a be a much bigger trade verging on blockbuster/ multi-player for Dallas the cap space-could include Colman (50% retained) plus prospects like Morin, Poirier, Stromgren (could it also have Zary?) plus picks going to the Flames.
Hi Mike, I really like your take on the Oilers going after Rust. They need more depth scoring, we all know and have seen that, and to keep McDavid happy and maybe enough to lift Stanley they desperately need it. With very little cap space and both Rakell & Rust for only 5$ mill can't believe see haven't seen/heard anything from the Oilers!?! I believe because who Rust is to the Pens and Sid he may cost more than Rakell. Although, both are tenacious forecbeckers, can score, great teammates, and have a team friendly few years left while being able to contribute at last years level. Edmonton would have to overpay to stretch 1sts 3+ years from now because Pens want a faster rebuild. Maybe a 1st in 28' & 29' does it?
As for Rakell to the Leafs, the Pens would need more than a mid pick & Robertson. At the least a 2nd or 1st because of where that pick ends up being. Robertson & a 1st in what 27'? 28'? The Leafs are in the same as the Oilers, they desperately need to do something to improve.
The Karlsson trade….wow! Could that work, sure! Does it fit everyone's wish list, yes. Although what is the Pens actually receiving? A 1st and mid-higher level prospect would do it, but depending on other trades Dubas would want a 26' 1st.

Good video. Think Karlsson is headed to Carolina. If Flames can get Robertson to extend, he may go there in exchange for Anderson + someone else. However, as u say, Vegas has a big hole to fill in their D core, and will go hard to get Anderson. Dougie Hamilton to Red Wings is an interesting possibility. I think McCann more likely to wind up in Montreal. Norris in Vancouver sounds good. Maybe Pettersen will waive his no trade to go to Buffalo.
