Hes done, even if he heals up he has missed too much development time to cut the losses and buy out
They won't get McTavish, because that spot is held for Hage
The 2 costliest missteps from the the Gorton / Hughes era are
1- Kirby Dach
2-Juraj Slafkovsky instead of 2C Logan Cooley
Trade Hage and Matheson for McTavish. I don't get the Hage hype. He didn't even look great at the summer showcase against b level players. He's weak on the puck. I don't see him ever being a 2 C
Kirby you injured again?
Kirby: Yes… but I'll be Dach!
I love when you two get together, I wish you would have got a physiotherapist on on the air…Dach has just passed the 5 month part of his rehabilitation…he is on schedule…the gym work on that knee is consistent with rehab… sometimes you might used no weights… just to retrain your ligaments to stretch… plus not practicing with his teammates… he would never have been given clearance from his surgeon or Montreal Canadiens medical rehab department to do those scrimmages …this story has no knowledge, other than a source that saw hon in a gym
Bottom line is reguardless if he is ready at season start he is not going to be on the same level as the rest of the team and he will be a liability…
.
Are you buying into this rumour with such flimsy evidence from Maxime Truman?
Dach doesn't get injured last seaon Habs dont make the playoffs
Shaun Great show & Great Guest!!!!
Hope the rest of your summer is great!!!!
One of the best podcast ive watched. Brign Eric much often. Thank you for this
So, we’re taking the word of Max Truman’s unknown source over the Canadiens GM?
Heres an idea send him down to laval for reconditioning!😊
A bit to much doom in this show. If there was a move to be made that makes sense they would have done it. As mentioned this management team is well above average i their jobs. Still there is time for things to sort themselves out. I feel that HUGO now don't want Dach as the second line center, they just have not been able to make the need move yet.
I hated the trade Romanov for Dach and hating it more and more every day that goes by… think if the Habs still had Romanov … I think it’s time to move on from dach !!! My drinking glasses are more durable than Dach is.
According to Eric M., Montreal has one of weakest center line in the NHL. I now believe that Montreal had needed in fact more Logan Cooley, a possible 80 pt left center than Slaf, a big winger . Their gamble with Dach at center has not paid off. Finding that genuine scoring 2C will be a very difficult task…since Montreal has only drafted one center (Hage) in the first round in the last 4 drafts. Furthermore, Hage is likely more a winger than a center…time will tell!!
Eric is dead on , newhook is a fourth line at best , he’s a poor’s man Michael Ryder to me
Hage or Reinbacher for Mason? Any day and twice on Sunday , I think some of you are grossly overrating the habs prospects. You’re getting excited over bias shit that some premature self proclaimed hockey expert and analysts . I’ve been watching hockey and the habs for 42 years , every year the media sold you guys most of them have never seen , from komisarek, Lebeau, Austin , Scherback, Perehzogin to Beaulieu , chipchura , primeau ect ect . The truth very few prospects make it to top roles in the NHL. In five years from now guys like Xhekaj , Engstrom and Fowler will be very useful players for the habs and probably be more important than most prospects that are ranked ahead of them by again , the so called “experts” . As for Dach , he was never great , even in junior , they should have getting rid of him last year
Some of you call Hughes a genius and cream your pants at every moves he makes ,
Here are his bad moves , Dach trade , Laine Trade (8.7) which restricted them from making a big move last year and this year , Kovacevik trade , newhook trade , Slafkovsky’s pick when they had been struggling to find centers for 30 years and Cooley was right there . There’s Mesar pick was embarrassing , the Reinbacher pick was even more embarrassing other bad move includes the clutter on the left side on defense and the miss handling of xhekaj who should be playing 82 games a year
For his good moves? Demidov was the obvious choice , any fans would have picked the same guy and 90% of us would have picked Michkov the prior year . I guess Carrier was a good move but nothing to write home about . The Hutson pick was pure luck or how else would you justify picking Fillip fucking Mesar be for him
Don’t forget that the habs entered their last 4 draft with 12 picks at each of these draft , a record so based on the amount of picks they had , the bounty is pretty poor
Quit believing the imaginary hype , Hughes isn’t a great GM. Especially when he was handed the cards at his first season with 3 first rounders after the Romanov trade , including the 1st overall and came out with slavkosky, Dach and Mesar🤦♂gross
What do you mean, there are no bona fide centermen waiting in the wings? Hage is not 5 years away, he is 2 years from being a Hab and will likely have a higher production upside than McTavish..
Bet you he's on weed 😵💫
It comes down to this decision for management; fill the 2nd C position with long term solution right now, or find a stop gap solution to fill the next 3-4 years until Hage is ready to fill the role. They could also do nothing if the above options cost too much right now, but I'm concerned that it hinders Demidov's development if they don't find a suitable 2nd C in the near future.
Excellent show men I agree with a lot said I feel AN is better than a 4 th liner he might greatly benefit from ID feeling him like in the Chicago game. But yes he isn’t a 2 C. Roslovic ?
