MY GOAT IS BACK
This better not be the 2nd line centre 💀
How is this puzzling?
The guy has a ton of potential.
I'm fine with this. Either he makes the team and gets paid, or he goes back to Russia and gets nothing. No way this guy is reporting to Abby.
It’s a two way contract, used in case they need to move players
Good for Canucks. Vitali could make us proud. Young man get a chance.
I’m gonna put a positive spin on this. This is a low risk move as it is a two way contract. Some players take a while to mature and to really find their game, and it’s possible Vitaly has finally found what will make him successful. More importantly, he was a Russian player that was excelling in Russia, so the very fact that he signed this two way contract shows that he really wants this. I say give the guy a chance.
Tell the “Leaf blower guy” to be quiet and drop your name Lego says “Simmer down!”
Look at his +/- and blocked shots numbers this year.
His issue was not skill related, Tocc's knock on the guy was "He needs to get stronger. It's fine you don't win every wall battle, but it can't be 1-9." So, basically lack of strength and effort.
Now Tocc is gone, and Vitali has seemingly learned to play defense. We'll see how he comes into camp.
I'd say he's more likely to grab Pius Suter's void than be a highlight scorer at this point.
Here's the thing: When you're a team like the Canucks looking for talent wherever you can, sometimes you have to shop in the bargain bin. He's not going to blow up their cap situation because in all likelihood, he's going to play in Abby and not Vancouver – or bolt back to Russia if it doesn't work out. There's no way to lose in this situation. If he doesn't make it, worse case scenario, they just let him go. Or he plays 3rd or 4th line minutes in Abby. But if you frame it as a former top 10 draft pick gets a 2 way contract, it's not bad at all. Maybe Malhotra makes something out of him. Or he costs the Canucks nothing against the cap and walks after this coming season. If I had the opportunity to do this, I absolutely would because this is probably his last chance to be an NHL player and you don't want to be that team that passes on him and then find out he's matured and he ends up being an effective NHL player. Maybe at best he's a replacement for one of the guys who will inevitably move up to the big club and he helps Abby repeat as champions.
Puzzling? The dude was 6th in points in the KHL. Seasoning has done him wonders.
The only thing puzzling is your title. It what it is. It's a 2 way contract for 1 year. The guy gets another shot to see what he can do in camp or go back down to the minors. Nothing complicated here.
Leave him in a bottom 6 roll. He needs to show he's worth a top six forward spot. He's gotta want that roll.
We spoke to Celebrini and Bedard today at UBC
Their conditioning stint is just insane
I really hope one day they both become a Canuck
Doubt it though…We will have to wait another few years or longer if they dont sign another contract with SJ and Chicago
Did Chytil and Kravtsov spent any time playing together when they were both on the NYR?
