Evgeny Kuznetsov, the 2018 Stanley Cup champion centerman, suited up for the Wolves in a beer league hockey game at MedStar Capitals Iceplex.
He scored a goal and added an assist in the Wolves’ 6-2 victory over Carpool.
Kuznetsov was observed laughing and joking with other players, including the refs, and even tried to deke other players out.
After the game, he participated in a handshake line and took photos with other players on the ice.
Kuznetsov’s performance was impressive, with several long feeds that landed on other players’ tape in stride.
He also showed his mortal side when trying to shoot to the top left corner and continually missing.
The two-time NHL All-Star has been looking to return to the NHL, but his agent has said he’s open to the right KHL deal.
Kuznetsov’s experience in the beer league game was a unique one, with him treating everyone like normal teammates and making everyone feel special.
For an average goalie, playing against someone as good as him was very eye-opening and an experience to cherish forever.
