Bennett being the aggressor on Frederic – Tough Call Recommendation
if you look close to the top right of your screen you’ll see Trent Frederick break his stick over Sam Bennett’s ribs with a cross check for which I would have given him 11 games but now that the lines person has come in and Frederick is down invulnerable Bennett decides to start punching on Frederick and even when the lines person is covering Frederick and there’s no way for Frederick to defend himself and the lines person is in danger Bennett continues to take multiple swings you cannot do that nhl rule 46.2 aggressor is a rule that stops any player from continuing to inflict punishment on an opponent who is unable or unwilling to defend themselves which is the case here because Frederick’s being pinned down by the linesman and Bennett continues to try and punch even through and around the linesman no respect for the opponent understandable because of what the opponent did to him but no respect for the official either this is a play that has nothing to do with hockey putting it in my six to 10 game suspension category tough call would suspend Sam Bennett of the Florida Panthers six games for being the aggressor of an altercation

Bennet only fight back with the protection of his teammates the black and white stripes. He needs to be punished! It will never happen cause it generates engagement and they want that to get more people watching.

You took one moment out of entire game to make Bennett look like an aggressor. You didn’t show 30 seconds before this where Bennett was being harassed by the bench of Edmonton. Yes Bennett is an agitator. But at this point of the game, Oilers lost their cool and had become the Charlestown Chiefs. Nurse, Kane, Frederic, Walman, and Bouchard were the brothers. Nothing but cheap hacks and jabs after the play. Bennett at this point had enough. Don’t show the one point Bennett lost his cool without showing the dozens of cheap shots Oilers had given at this point.

you think cross checking a guy while asking him to fight is an 11 game suspension, but punching a guy in the face while the ref is holding him down is a 6 game suspension ? are you a neutral hockey fan making these videos or just a Florida diehard ? funny how you added each crosscheck together making him a "repeat offender" but didn't follow the same standard for each of Bennett's punches ? if you went by the rulebook each crosscheck would have been 2 minute penalties. the refs allowed to combine them and make it a 5 minute major if he thought it was egregious. the rulebook literally says punching a player that is detained by an official is subject to suspension. you have no interest in following the rulebook. youre either a bias fan, someone trolling for clicks, or someone that knows nothing about hockey and wants it to become soccer.
That's playoff hockey. If Frederick didn't do what he did which was clearly trying to injure Bennett this whole play wouldn't have happened including the nurse fight. If you can dish it you better be ready to get hit back!
Bennett clearly punched the head of the ref (as well as broke the rules you mention here). Suspension is the only answer to what Bennett did.
Sam Bennett is a shameless spineless weasel. This is what he does – wants nothing to do with a fight when the person in question is actually in a position to fight him. But once he's being held down by the linesman? Yeah then he suddenly becomes the toughest guy in hockey.
