2025-2026 Montreal Canadiens Bold Predictions

In this video, I’m breaking down my Top 5 bold predictions for the Montreal Canadiens’ 2025-26 season. From a penalty kill regression to Juraj Slafkovsky’s breakout and a possible playoff heartbreak, these takes might ruffle feathers—but they’re realistic. We’ll talk PK struggles, Alex Newhook’s potential new role, Kirby Dach’s bounce-back, Slafkovsky hitting 60+ points, and why the Habs could still miss the playoffs despite improving. Agree or disagree? Let me know in the comments!

  1. 🔥 Please! Like the video 👍, subscribe if you're new here ✅, and leave me a comment 💬! Even if it's just to say "hi" 👋!
But also… I want to share something hidden here in the comments 👀.

So, I really believe in 4 of these predictions ✅ but #1… it's completely a hot take 🔥 and honestly, I don't love it 😬—but hey, I have to work on that reverse karma ✨ so it doesn't happen.

Hope you're all doing well ❤! I wanted to get a couple of videos out this long weekend 📹, but my daughter is going through a little bit of sleep regression 😴, and it is in turn putting me through sleep regression too 🥱.

🍀 Thanks for hanging out with me, Habs fam!

  2. 1. Slaf 65 point season
    2. Laine 35 goals and 60 points
    3. Monty top 5 Vezina voting
    4. Guhle-Dobson finish as top 3 analytical pairing
    5. The sophomore slump hits Lane Hutson but still puts up 60+ points

  3. #1 First 90 points season for Suzuki

#2 Dobes establish himself as a true 1B or at least #2

#3 Demidov will replace Slafkovsky on line 1

#4 Bolduc will score 25+ goals.

    #5 2C Trade

#6 Slafkovsky will learn to play without the top dawgs after a slow start

#7 The penalty kill will be surprisingly only slightly worse.

#8 At least one of Struble, Arber Xhekaj or Engstrom gets traded

#9 Laine scores 30+ goals, yes those with his potential future team counts.

#10 Boldest of all, Dach will play over 65 games this season.

  4. Slaf beast comes out on fire. Now it’s full season Slafbeast.

    100 point season for Suzuki.

Pk will be top 10. PP will be top 10.

  5. I like the hot takes except for the last one, I think they'll make wild card again narrowly and have another first round ejection. I don't think they're ready for a deep playoff run for another 2-3 years but I think playoffs are on the table after what happened this season

  6. Slafkovsky was shuffled around at the beginning of last year. It wasn't until December that he was permanently on the first line.
Had he played with Suzuki and Caufield all year last year he would have crossed 60 points and no one would be worried about him.

  7. As a french speaking Quebecois myself I must say that you’re accent is (as we say around here) vraiment pas pire mon chum 😉 (really not that bad my friend)
