@thrag987 yeah they have a goalie that challenges to fight other players and hits them with their stick after burrows and company try to smack his stick first. i hope ur not a vancouver fan talking about cheap shit in the finals what with the canucks diving more than an olympic diving team
From the official rules on nhl.com, section 42.1: "A goalkeeper is not “fair game” just because he is outside the goal crease area….incidental contact…will be permitted when the goalkeeper is in the act of playing the puck outside his goal crease provided the attacking player has made a reasonable effort to avoid such contact."
I hope the Sabres on the ice checked the lost and found after the game for their nuts because they seemed to be missing them on this play.
@xsparkfiresx No, Goalie is not a "fair game" because they wear so many equipments which make them extremely immobile. Read Kerry Fraser's comment on TSN. By the way, I am wondering who's the next player Bruins attempt to murder. Maybe Brodeur tomorrow night?
Boston got away with another suspension. Who's next Boston? (Pacioretty, Raymond, Miller, who's next???? Brodeur???) Lucic got away with it because he's a Boston Bruin. Rome got 4 SCF games for a somewhat better hit on Horton. Why in the world Lucic did not get suspended?

Boston got away with another suspension. Who's next Boston? (Pacioretty, Raymond, Miller, who's next???? Brodeur???) since it's open season for goalies now. Lucic got away with it because he's a Boston Bruin. If Rome got 4 SCF games, why Lucic got nothing???
Look Close…. Miller Trips Lucic with his leg pads then Miller pivots and leans into a check as Lucic leans away to avoid it…. I hate the bruins but I dont think its all Lucic's fault..
How about an intent to injure against Miller for that wild stick swinging after the collision. Looked like shoulder to shoulder…Lucic's feet didn't even leave the ice. If you want to wander out in traffic and try to stickhandle you better look both ways for trucks and buses, even if you think you're protected by the rules…..
@thejanwe2002 You must be another sissy vancouver fan. The most spineless bunch of divers in the NHL. The 'nucks didn't get the calls they wanted because of the constant diving. Not to mention Luongo's sub par performance. This isn't European hockey, hits are part of the game. Bruins rock !!
These commentators make Jack Edwards sound cool. I like how that idiot says good to see the rest of the team had his back, what was he watching. Lindy Ruff must have been sick to his stomach with his teams lack of toughness. If this happened to Thomas there would have been a blood bath.
@chiunit11 The stick didn't come above Lucic's waste, not even close to a high stick @cccrash Intent to injure is not a penalty on its own. It must be appended to another penalty, slashing for instance. And since Miller did not commit any infraction, there can be no intent to injure penalty.
I am glad the NHL did not do more with Lucic. I am not a Boston fan at all and this does not come from any personal sentiment towards them. Everyone keeps talking about hits the NHL is trying to take out of the game. A few years back they also changed rules to keep the goalies from turning into forwards. Right now no one seems to be saying anything about Miller. I think he was taking liberties by being so far out of the net. I think Miller, an goalies in general, need to stay in their nets
@cakelsalie99: lucic didn't even know he did that till after the game so no, he did not dodge it. Personally I'm pumped for wednesdays game cuz buffalos biggest players got chewed out for being pussys (I'm a buffalo fan btw) and they came out brawlinf and hitting against nj. Deff not putting up with this crap anymore.
@Papwithanhatchet i never deleted your comments, in fact i left all of them up even though your moronic ass had to keep posing the same thing spamming the page. You are wrong about the suspension and the fact that miller was injured means nothing, it was not an intent to injure, end of story.
@Papwithanhatchet No, I didn't, you just spammed the page asswipe. The boston analyst didn't say anything about hi personally believe it deserved more than that, the boston announcer is jack edwards, i am more credible than him.
i am a 2012-2013 patched ref. I have seen this hit many times and looked through the rule book and in my official opion there was nothing cheep about this hit. Its 100% clean

I have to point out a high stick on Miller after the hit clearly trying to cleave Lucic.
Just saying.

if i was buffalo id be more worried about the lack of response by ANYONE on buff than the hit on miller. typical buffalo.
@chiunit11 I have to point out the obvious cheap hit on Miller that resulted in to the reaction you dumbass
@chiunit11 I have to point out the obvious cheap hit on Miller that resulted in to the reaction you piece of shit
Not worth a suspension. Goalies are not fair game, and the Sabers need to take care of that on the ice!
