The Liberty announced the release of second-year guard Jaylyn Sherrod on Friday.
Sherrod’s release came shortly before the Liberty signed marquee free agent center Emma Meesseman, who obtained her visa via her native Belgium.
Meesseman is in Connecticut with the Liberty on Friday ahead of their game against the Sun, according to The Post’s Madeline Kenney.
Liberty general manager Jonathan Kolb praised Sherrod — who was signed by New York as an undrafted free agent out of Colorado one year ago and was a part of last season’s championship team — for her rise and relentlessness.
