A report has come out that Newport Sports Managment has concerns about the OHL’s new standard player agreement holding up the signing of Peterborough Petes first overall pick Kaden McGregor along with Brenner Lammens of the Sarnia Sting and Aleks Kulemin of the Kingston Frontenacs, and former Sarnia Sting captain Brayden Guy has announced his retirement and will join his junior team as an Assistant Coach.

Thanks Mike! Many of us didn’t understand what was going on with our first round pick in terms signing; this makes sense. Yes, dad’s team purchase and the departure for personal reasons of the last assistant coach, also makes sense that Braden would slide right in. They are going to have a tough start to the season, however, as the Progressive arena has suffered massive flood damage in a recent rain storm. Unsure if it’ll be ready in time for season opener, let alone, camp and exhibitions. Anyway, trying not to wish the summer away as anticipation builds for the upcoming season! #GoSting
