Can Norwich REALLY Keep Star Man Sargent?
It is good for Norwich and we clipped out Norwich from the last bit to say what an excellent window they’re having and they’ve done literally this morning Jeff Schlup who um famously he was with Leicester wasn’t he was a Premier League winner wasn’t he with Leicester and he’s been up with Palace um he’s only 32 actually seems to have been around forever and a day doesn’t he and sometimes you just want you spoke about Ashley Young earlier you just want to bring experience and standards and leadership into your squad and some older players who can still do it. Jeff Schlip would be that we’ve already spoken about Grimshaw and Darling and Medic and Kavic and Wright and Vist Garden. That’s very very exciting up the top end of the pitch. And the really interesting one is it’s been reported now that the deal for Josh Sergeant which was was it Verde Breman in German? No, Volsberg. I can’t remember. He’d been in Germany before, Sergeant, hadn’t he? But that was the big link. And we’ve all kind of said, “Oh, well, it’ll be um Sergeant going out. Um Science has already gone. Maybe Nunez as well, but Sergeant is still there.” And I don’t know, is there a universe? They do all of these deals and they actually manage to keep hold of him. I don’t know whether they can do that with the with the PRS, but we’ll we’ll see. Did I say PR? I keep saying that. That’s the Performing Rights Society. PSR. Sorry. I think I might have said that earlier in the video. PSR. If anyone’s come for me in the comments, I’ve corrected myself there. So, stand down pedants in the comments. All these bloody acronyms. Um, but um yeah, PDG pretty damn good is an acronym for Norwich’s transfer window. And this lad Dio is it Pape Dio who we thought was going to go into Watford who were about to speak about looks like um and that’s another three four surely they’re going to sell Sergeant Norwich. They’re going to do another four million quid on a on a winger as well but it’s very exciting um what’s happening at Norwich and um I always think it’s good when you have a new manager come in you know wipe the slate clean give them some players don’t do too many but you know the messaging is going to change to the existing players and the pack players going to change anyway. So if ever there is a time to have a big busy transfer window then maybe it is the one where you change the manager too. You tell me but yeah Norwich continue to have an enjoyable transfer window. Um well you tell me Norwich fans actually it all looks good and I’m sure you’re all very happy now. Are you going to be happy if it all ends with right there goes Sergeant and there goes Nunez or just there goes Sergeant? Um I suspect that would still be a a net positive, wouldn’t it? if the um if the numbers all kind of um add up. So yeah, fair play. Um Norwich, it says with the Johnny Ro back end to deal to Marseilles that and science as well that there’s still a load of money coming in. So could they could they keep Sergeant? We will find out. Uh finally, Watford. Um, and I don’t want to get excited about Watford because they the owners do silly stuff and let me down if I if I do. But there’s a couple of nice ones um in here. Uh, Neestori Iran Kunda, who um it all sounds very exotic, but I believe he’s an Aussie um international and they’ve bought him from no less than Bayern Munich. However, I think he was it says FC Bayern Zvai. Um, so I don’t think he was anywhere near the first team, but again, um, elite clubs. Um, and I did look, he’s only 19 and he’d already played like 60 games, um, in Oz as well and scored, um, a fairly decent amount of goals. It says right winger. I believe he was the fella model in the Mr. Q shirt in the um, in the kit rankings video, so you can check that one out as well. But that sounds like a fun one. And we’ve always praised um uh Watford, haven’t we, for picking out a Ishma star or a Xiao Pedro? Everyone’s, you know, credits Brighton for doing amazing business on Xiao Pedro. Where was he first at Watford, wasn’t he? And um is it Pervvis Estan? Is he going somewhere big at the moment? So, you know, Watford have had their own success stories with exotic named players. They’ve also had plenty of players that have come in from Udines. And look, this one’s going to wind people up, isn’t it? It’s going to wind me up trying to say his name. Luca Kirgard, who scored loads of goals for Obi Odensa in Denmark. And you know what I’m about to say, who’s been signed by Ud and immediately loaned to Watford. And that really grinds people’s gears. Obviously, we talk about multi- club ownership and the potos do say they’re getting out of Udin, but well, they’ve still got them. We’ve seen plenty of these deals through the years. I mean, the buy and immediately loan is one thing. I think that doesn’t grind people’s gears quite as much as I can’t remember who was the um was it CMBB who’s who’s still there where we thought the transfer fee might have been over market value, but you know, good luck proving that. part. Yeah, Watford have got themselves a fella who’s only 22 years old and who scored a load of goals in Denmark as well and maybe they’ve avoided paying a transfer fee for him. So, we’ll see what comes out in the wash there. But having a pretty good um window Watford, we’ve already spoken about Mama, Baxter, Kipriano, Ba Vivaldo, Semido also in from Udz. So, they’ve done uh plenty. By the way, we didn’t speak. Mita Ryovic has gone out to Poland by the 25. Rayovich thought he was older than that. There you go. What do I know?

Doesn’t matter if they do or not… they had him last season and finished 13th. 😭
I can’t see us keeping Sargent. Personally think he might end up in US
I was of the opinion we should sell Sargent this window but with the squad we've built this window I think we should keep him and see what happens. There's no pressure to sell with the time he's got left on his contract.
I don’t think we’ll keep Sargent. Rumours are his wife wants to go back to the US and he’s happy to do that too. I think it will probably happen but the Wolfsburg deal was a price up to £21m, so that’s set a precedent now. That’s a fee where as sad as we’ll be to lose Sargent, we can just say fair enough, Mark Attanasio and Ben Knapper have both confirmed that we’ll sign another attacker to replace him if he goes so there would definitely be good funds available for it.
However, as you said, I think overall it’s a positive if he’s sold still. The window has seen a lot of good work in a much needed rebuild and I think we can really challenge next season, right now it’s tough to see why we can’t
No one wants the ginger😂
I don't want this to cause issues in the squad. If Sargent stays or goes I'm happy
I thought it possible. Like us fans he may be impressed by this record transfer window, and his head turned away from a return to Germany. The new signings, a new manager, and the renewed energy we can feel. He is a huge talent and a perfect professional – and he knows he is loved by the fans. If the new setup can feed him the ball, and if he stays fit – there will be goals, and 'Sargents on Fire' will echo in the stands. He is still playing and captaining in the pre-season friendlies. I am confident in our financial management. Delia & Michael did a great job – and have done a great job waiting for just the right type of new owner to come along – they won't break the club either. IF we can afford for him to stay, it would be amazing. What ever happens, really looking forward to this season. OTBC.
I can’t lie I can see Josh Sargent staying at the club for one more year even when he has offers from Burnley and Leeds United Still.!!!.
I think he will stay because he rejected a big move to Wolfsburg so he will rejected probably any bid this goes to show how much he loves Norwich City
When Leeds sell bamford , we will swoop in on deadline day
Interesting video and interesting potential moves for Sargent too
He will leave for me.
Sold Rowe and Sainz this window for circa 30 million so PSR no problem
I think Norwich City can make the top 6 this season with the transfer window they are having what are your thoughts?.
He's on his way ⏳
They've signed Kvistgarden or whatever his name is so eitherway I think they're a strong candidate for playoffs.
Shouldn't have any issues with PSR. Made £30m ish in player sales. Haven't spent that
If he does go, can only really see it being Leeds. 22/1 to be top scorer which is cracking value if you can get on if/when he extends contract at Norwich
Norwich may be able to push top 8 this season I feel
Psr not an issue, we’ve made £30m in player sales and spent about £20m so far. MA has recently said they could have not sold Sainz and Sarg and spent what we have and more. If he stays, and stays fit for the whole season then we could genuinely push for playoffs, sell him and don’t bring in a good replacement, even with the transfer business we’ve done, I’m not sure that’s achievable this season. I have no doubt we’ll be much better defensively with the additions of darling and medic, and new DM to come in, but attacking wise we will need the new signings to hit the ground running and the youngsters we brought in last season stepping up ie Crnac and jurasek etc interesting season ahead, but expecting a slow burner either way
At this point, I'd say there's a roughly even chance of Sargent staying. The transfer window remains open, and there's every possibility that a club willing to offer £20m or more could come in for him. It is still up in the air.
Norwich won’t sell unless the get an offer over £20 million. There’s no PSR pressure to sell.
But just because Josh turned down Wolfsburg it doesn’t fill me with massive confidence that he’ll stay.
More than likely there’s another club that’s bigger than Wolfsburg that Sargent would prefer to go to.
He wants to get into the USA team for the World Cup so he’ll be looking for the highest profile move he can
Norwich should keep him 😊 Ipswich Town fc fan Town still looking 😊
Sadly we can’t keep Sargent.
If someone offers the clubs valuation he’s gone. Sadly he’s made of glass and it’s becoming more common knowledge that one more serious injury in the same area and he’s pretty much done. So that will be in the clubs mind in terms of sell on value.
However the good thing with Sargent is he isn’t the sort to kick off or down tools like Rowe did. Evidence of that from the friendlies with him continuing to be involved and even captaining the side in the absence of mcclean. There is a chance of course but it’s unlikely he will be here past this window.

As a Norwich fan, I would love to hold onto arguably the best striker in the league and get a great season in, because we look like we're on track for the playoffs with this team being built. I think the most important thing is whether he is happy to stay here. The pessimist in me thinks that if he personally pulled out of the deal, it's because he knows some Premiership team really wants him. Frankly, he should be in the top tier of football as a striker, he's a goal scoring freak.
Mr bloom I know what your doing with your headline! In a dream world I hope we keep him 😅
Is the money spent reliant on Sargent money incoming for balancing the books?
Virtually zero chance he stays. No PSR issues but maximum value at this point and he wants to get back in USMNT ahead of home World Cup.
I'm a bit confused only thing us Norwich fans are thinking is he waiting for a move to the Premier as Burnley still showing an interest but im wondering if he's hoping Leeds come back so he can get back with his mate Farke🤔 Thing is also he played up front in friendly for i think 70mins if he wasn't staying would you risk a 21 million pound player & risk it us fans Know Josh has had a few injuries so I guess Saturdays friendly at home will tell more.
Love him to stay but he would have come out and said so if that was the case
